As much as it seems they love putting Bama over their own program, do they not want a shot at the SEC title?

I think they have a better shot at the playoffs if they and Bama winout, while pulling for Washington not to win the PAC.

Well, seeing that Bama losing 2 is highly unlikely, we are rooting for the best opportunity to end up in the playoff. That is not ignorant...it's playing the percentages.
