well most of your smack about arkansas is opinion (mediocre program, sucks, will never move up in the West, never win NC, etc), so it's hard to say you were lying. after all, it's just opinion - and when you're wrong (like all your quotes below) you can just say it "obviously doesn't count".

quote:

I thought we would win, but I also distinctly remember thinking and saying that I thought it would be a one score game

then you distinctly misremember. From the recently bumped HawgAlude thread, your LSU-ark game prediction:

quote:

We're going to beat your arse and finish ahead of you in the west just like we always do

quote:

yeah ok. Mallet is overrated as shite and PP will take him to the house at least once.
LSU 42-14

quote:

We're going to beat your arse again this year too.

I assume that's from like July or something and is obviously not indicative of a real prediction. Here's a thread from me the week of the game saying an LSU win by more than a score would be unlikely

LINK

Did I think we were going to win? Of course I did. As long as LSU is good I'm always going to be confident going into a game. Why shouldn't I be, we're one of the most successful programs in college football over the last 11 years. We always expect to win.

Just to hopefully clarify for you once and for all:

1- I think Arkansas is a good program.

2- I think it's possible that Arkansas could win the NC one day.

3- I think Arkansas fans have an vastly overinflated sense of how good their program is.

4- I think that, while not impossible, it's a lot harder for you to win an NC in the SEC that it was in the SWC.

Judges will we accept this way overused and lame retort in the declarative, not the interrogative?

Oooh, sorry Drac. That's going to cost you 1,600 cool points for being a total chick.

Since the SEC is on the brink of 5 straight NC's, it's going to be very very hard to be taken seriously while making an argument for something to be harder in the SWC. I wont try that.

But the SWC teams of the 60's, 70's and 80's are not exactly the same teams you know them as today.

Baylor wasn't a stranger to the Top 25

Rice, R-I-C-E, had salty programs.

SMU was semi-pro.

Houston had streaks of prominence.

Texas and A&M were Texas and A&M.

Tech was still Tech.

Throw in there the fact we were the only team not in the State of Texas, and the conference was corrupt as hell. I assure you that the SEC will never ever frick Arkansas over more or provide more of a challenge than we faced in the SWC.

it's nice to see you've changed up your opinions, but that HawgAlude thread is full of you saying basically the exact opposite of your list, just page after page of you trolling arkansas.

so i guess the clarification was needed, thanks.

My opinions are no different now than they ever were. Me flaming HawgAtude is not the same thing.

Dude you're seriously sitting here trying to make and argument for having to beat the likes of Rice, Baylor, Texas Tech and Houston as just as tough a road as what you have in the SEC? I grant you SMU but that was for like 4 years. A&M is basically equal to Georgia and Texas is Texas. So you had two big programs to deal with in your conference. In the SEC you have 6. I think Arkansas is a good program but there's a reason you've been here 20 years and have yet to even win the SEC much less sniff an NC.

So, long story short, my wife wants an eBook Reader for Christmas. What should I get: Kindle, Nook, Ipad, etc...

Thoughts, concers or comments?

I'm pretty sure I was crystal clear that I was not saying that the SEC was a lesser conference than the SWC.

I know right. I could have nailed a cookbook. She just said she wants an ebook reader but doesn't care which. Now I'm stuck researching because I'm at least smart enough to know that she does care which one I get.

Even if you did know what you're talking about (and there is some truth in it)...what difference does it make? We're still gonna whooop that butt.
