BK tried to convince him to come to LSU as DC. That was the truth. Then BK flopped with House. BK wanted both OC and DC to LSU. Only could get the OC. Now the OC is back at Notre Dame and guess what? Notre Dame is in the championship game.

Tommy Rees was the OC under Kelly at the time. He stayed at ND when Freeman was promoted and coached the '22 team. He then went to Bama for Saban's last year.

Denbrock was the OC at Cincinnati under Fickell before he came to LSU.

BK couldn't hire him to LSU. That got to sting!
He hired him to ND so

Then Freeman saw the writing on the wall. Didn't want to follow the same thing that didn't get Notre Dame a championship. Freeman was able to lure LSU OC Notre Dame. Notre Dame is now playing in a championship game next week. That is something that BK got to be upset about Freeman success that BK couldn't get it done at LSU.

Why??? That’s a really stupid take.

He was announced as Kelly’s successor at Notre Dame. Why would that bother anyone that his DC wouldn’t follow him to take the head Coach job. Lol

I got proof!
Report: Brian Kelly Has Reached Out To Marcus Freeman
Newly minted LSU head coach Brian Kelly is reportedly trying to bring a member of the Notre Dame staff to Baton Rouge.
According to The Athletic’s Pete Sampson, Kelly reached out to his former defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman in an attempt to lure him to the Tigers.
“LSU head coach Brian Kelly reached out to Notre Dame defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman on Monday,” Sampson shared. Concluding, “Kelly would intend to make Freeman the highest paid defensive coordinator in college football.”

Of course, this should come as no surprise considering Freeman appears to be one of the sport’s rising coaching and recruiting stars. Many see him as potentially the next HC of the Fighting Irish.

If Kelly plans to make Freeman college football’s highest paid assistant, it would have to top Clemson DC Brent Venables $2.5 million annual salary.

Freeman led Notre Dame’s defense to the 30th rank in the nation, a big reason for the Irish’s 11-1 record.
