Just heard on radio, there will be headsets in the helmets that can be used for calling plays in. Will defensive players/coaches have the same capability?

Yes. Although technically this rule is currently only proposed for next season, and still must be approved. The next discussion will take place in about 10 days.

Teams are trying out the technology currently with varying degrees of success (it doesn't always work).

As it now stands, each school would have the option to use helmet communications though one player on the field — i.e., a QB and a LB, for example. That player would be identified by a green dot on the back of the player's helmet.

The radio would be turned off with 15 seconds remaining on the play clock or when the ball is snapped, whichever comes first.
