LSU got very lucky that Gus had a brain fart and decided to let off the gas.

Would end a season with 5 wins over top 5 teams in last 6 games.

LSU besting Tennessee was the only rematch in the SEC championship game to ever win.

All the rest won.

So history is not on UGAs side

It is an issue if the team that won the first game is only good, not great.

Great teams in HS, College and Pro always win the 2nd game. Good teams sometimes lose it. LSU 2011 comes to mind.

LSU 2011 was a great team. Possibly the greatest regular season CFB team of all time. Bad argument.

Nick Saban had a month to prepare, UGA doesn’t. There lies the difference.
