Unless I'm mistaken grant hasn't accepted the job yet. Seems like this thread is premature.

Comparing KY to L-ville in basketball is a joke.

It's like trying to compare UA & the rest of the sec in football. Not even close.

Alabama is a program is on the rise. When you look around at all programs I believe this moves us back to where we were before the mid 90's. I think we are now an Athletic program that can and will compete at a top 25 level in just about every sport. I said earlier my opinion after we hire Grant the SEC elite programs (if weighted giving the big three mens sports the most weight) 1. Florida 2. LSU 3. Alabama 4. UGA

So when is Bama's last SEC title in any of the "big 3" sports?

We all know about UF and LSU.

UGA won the SEC in Football in 2002 and 2005.
UGA won the SEC in Baseball in 2001, 2004, and 2008.
UGA won the SEC Basketball Tourney in 2008.

Not even talking other accomplishments like BCS bowls, Top 5 finishes, College World Series etc.

Pardon me, but no reason to rank Bama ahead of UGA given your criteria.

Will there be another mob scene at the airport with bammers in their finest t-shirts if Grant is hired?

Possibly ...but you probably won't see any drunk, 40 year old, white women trying to make out with him.

Thanks for making my point. "Elite" SEC teams measure success by championships not upset victories (Bama used to know this). When was Bama's last one in each of the "big 3"?

I noticed that you mentioned the 2008 basketball one. Well, congrats on that, but I don't think you expected that 1. You go from bottom dweller to elite in basketball overnight? I don't buy it.
You guys are still looking for a basketball coach right?

Then you should also notice I didn't call us Elite, the OP did. And he gave his criteria as being "the big 3" sports. So my question stands. Where are the accomplishments to backup putting Bama at #3 in terms of SEC ADs? I don't think UGA is elite in Basketball..but we are in Baseball and Football and we've got hardware this decade to prove it. Bama don't. Not really trying to flame. Just wanting to understand why someone would think that.

Reported where?

If true, things maybe falling in place.

If what I am hearing is correct...

Grant to Gainsneck
The Munster to Lexington
Clyde packing back to Tejas and taking Texas Tech job.

Or I can eat some crow...like I said...the Munster's name is mentioned heavily with "insiders and some within the media"

or

Wildcard....Mike Montgomery

We will see
