Grant was very influential in Gainesville, but giving him total credit for the championships is a bit much. Donovan is a heck of a recruiter, and has possibly the top recruiting class in the nation coming in next year (another reason he wont be at UK).

I hope you're right, because I really want to see Grant in Tuscaloosa. I also hope Donnovan plans to stay in Gainesville for a number of years, because I would like to see Grant stay for some time, if he was hired.

Domino effect ? UK cans Gillespie, Donovan leaves Florida for Kentucky, Grant goes to Florida ?

He was going to Gainesville two years ago when Donovan went to Orlando for an hour or so.

I think that's a given. I thought maybe he was trying to imply his cliched prediction was about to unfold.

my prediction may come true.

I want Alabama to get a good coach. That way we get some basketball interest and talk here. That was one reason I wanted Auburn to make the NCAA. I know football drives the bus,but Birmingham sports coverage is 99% football--year around.

If Alabama gets a good coach maybe the talk shows and someone other than Kevin Scarbinsky will acknowledge college basketball for a change.

As for the 'domino effect',one plus to Alabama having dismissed Gottfried early is you may be surprised as to who,or on behalf of someone, may have approached the Tide.

Ahhh now your just blowing smoke.

BTW, your prediction is looking very likely if that Orlando report is correct.

Not at all. LSU hinted that several coaches--directly or indirectly--contacted them last year. I don't think Johnson was one.

I think Grant would be a great hire, but if he goes to Florida or wherever,Alabama should still get a good one since they really do seem committed.

RedElephants is over on the Scout board saying Grant has accepted the Bama job, it's a done deal. It has already been posted on the Florida board and the KY boards.
