it as an advantage in the recruiting process.
If a recruit and their family think it is too much I am sure they go elsewhere. So you can look at it on the flip side and they are showing who they are and not morphing into somethig else for a different recruit.

It's just funny that Pike never mentioned being Christian before or that it was something important in his recruiting process. Now he's going to Auburn because all of the sudden playing in a pro style offense isn't important to him (which was his #1 thing from day 1) and so is the fact that Auburn's staff supposedly places God and Christianity at the fore front of their program...
I'm not saying they did anything wrong. I'm just saying if Auburn fans don't see why it's peculiar and funny, then I don't know what to tell you.

At the administrative level (if you could call it that), yea sure. But average everyday people don't go around trying to get people to switch to their religion. We call those people Mormons.

you do know that Auburn has been one of pikes top schools for 2 years. he went to the A day game last year and mentioned that it was a good christian place he would like to be.

That's obviously it. We stopped recruiting him awhile ago.

oh I get that... I also find it a amusing that people love to discuss stuff that they have no clue about.... has anyone been on a recruiting visit to AU?... do they know how the coaches and other players act?.... do you know it's fake?

chizik is not an average everyday person. he has 85 kids he is responsible for, and wants them to have the best life possible. he forces it on nobody, and there are plenty of non christians on the team, but it doesnt mean he cant share his beliefs. because that is just what they are, HIS BELIEFS. if the recruits dont like it, they have plenty of options.

Guys, I don't care that Pike went to Auburn. I'm glad he chose Auburn over Arkansas. But the whole religion thing comes off as phony as hell, and not because it's Auburn, but because it's a D1 football program.

Well if he's someone that tries to get people to convert to Christianity, then he can go frick himself. I can't stand those kind of people.

youve met Coach Chizik and had the opportunity to personally talk to him and see what kind of person he is? or are you just relying on what the media has painted of him?

Once we knew there were character issues and we got Patrick Towles to commit, which is who we really wanted.

You're not getting it. It's not about Chizik or Auburn. It's about college football.

Busey I guess I just don't over analyze a recruits choice. The fact it is so public now I have seen so many weird things happen nothing shocks me anymore.
These are teenagers and who knows maybe tomorrow, next month, or end of year he changes his mind and says he loves satan and joins Bama...
Many, Many kids, players give credit to God in acceptance speeches, Signing day, etc, and they never mentioned God was guiding them either. So why is no one calling that out?
It's silly to let it bother oneself so much over. It doesn't effect my life one bit does it yours? (Other than the players you end up rooting for)
