Getting access to a forum

Anybody know how long it takes? I submitted a request to get on my alma mater board a week ago and have not heard back or been granted access. Not new here, just new to participating here. Any insight would be appreciated. TIA

Enh, if you are an LSU alum you pretty well already have access to their forum. I believe it is open to everyone unless you were banned from there.
As an example, I am an Arkansas fan and I have posting privileges on Tiger Rant. Maybe not after the admins read this and realize their error but there you have it.
If you are looking to join another team board, say South Carolina, Arkansas, or Ole Miss then you would need to request those board admins to let you post there.
Which is where you are going to have a problem. They tend to allow people to post on the team boards based on their posts in the main forums. "Such and such seems like a good egg, we will let him in" or "This guy is a first class douchebag, we aren't letting him on our board."
You have, what, two posts to your name and one of them is asking why you don't have posting access? You need to interact with people more often on here.

Thanks. I am an Ole Miss alum. Just never had time to post before now. Also, just decided to throw in the towel on one of the pay sites. If anyone reads this from the OM board, that is the board I am looking to gain access to. And remember, everyone on this board started with ONE post.

I actually remember my first post... I was accused of being an alter I'm happy to say. It took me a couple of weeks of chatting on the main boards before I got access to the Arkansas board.
I'm on a couple of different team boards... heck, I keep meaning to apply for the Ole Miss and Miss. State boards but my posting history might get that idea nuked.
The Ole Miss fans are good folks. Post on the main forum and let them get to know you. Most of all don't call them out on the main forum for not approving you when they have no idea who you are.

Paid membership gets you access to all forums and private messaging. It’s worth it.

You're spot on. I'd add that the guy needs to go to the Ole Miss Board and click "Reply" to any post. You'll get a pop-up saying you don't have access and need to request permission on the form that pops up. Ole Miss can use all the posters they can get since their Board is dead as 3 AM.

I’d recommend posting more here about Ole Miss and you’ll eventually get access. You need to have a posting history for the admins to be able to review before they’ll let you in so they know you won’t spam their board.

Already requested through the OM board. Oh well, they will miss out on all my inside information, exclusive OM, concerning the university and various sports. I AM too proud to beg. Hotty Toddy!!
