not one to defend Tech, but i think Dodd had legitimate grounds for a beef.

agree

My hats off to tech for loading up 3 sec teams. Im impressed. LSU's OOC is sad. Tech is prolly my 2nd favorite football team.

No, Georgia Tech (Dodd) left the SEC to be independent, them...
They left because Bear was a dick. I suppose I can forgive them for that.

I would take THE Ville before I would take Tech. As bad as SEC BBALL has been, The Ville vs. Kent rivalry in Bball would be sweet for the conference.

Because the awesomeness that is Auburn cannot be contained within a mere Tiger (despite how awesome Aubie is). We need an awesome eagle to go along with it.

nah, vandy is the only university that gives the SEC any academic credibility whatsoever. GT is a great school also, but not on the same level and too specialized to carry the same academic clout. the SEC would be better off kicking out kentucky for GT

UF and UGA are pretty good for publics, but if you compare them to the top schools from any of the other BCS conferences they pale in comparison. those shouldn't be the top two academic universities in any major conference. the big 10 commissioner would have some company in his sentiments about the SEC if that were ever to happen

I wouldn't mind having them in the SEC. They would be a better perennial opponent for OM.
