Great man. I met him and talked to him once. He came to a practice, when I was still in the media. He had his disabled Son with him. Brad Scott was coaching ... maybe 95 or 96. We talked for awhile standing there.

Eventually I asked him what he thought of "the team." He said, very matter of factly, "you're going to have to get a lot bigger and faster."

I was surprised at how big he was. He was nearly my size and very in shape. You could tell he loved his Son. Always kept a hand on his shoulder. When we shook hands he had a strong grip. I liked him a lot. I liked his drawl as well. He was one of us.
