I live about 5 hours from Gainesville now that I have graduated so I only get to go to 2 or 3 games a year due to distance and a hunting habit.

My question is when you guys can't make it to the game what do you do?

Do you have friends over or do you watch it alone cause you tend to get angry and break things? Do you have a certain chair that you always sit in, lucky shirt, favorite food, favorite drink?

Not much longer until the season and the end of these threads!!!

The very rare times that I'm not at the game I do like to watch alone or with a small group of people, hate watching games for teams I care about with a big crowd.

Myself or a small group of like-minded fans. Usually set up 3 TV's for fall Saturdays.

Grill out and drink beer.

Prefer to watch at my house with just a small group of people. I'm married with kids, so if we have too many folks over, it tuns into friggin Romper Room meets Oprah Winfrey with all the kids and women running around running their mouths.

Copious amounts of booze. Lots of pacing back and forth.

Cussing.

Eating whatever I feel like.

I actually usually prefer to watch the game alone, or with another fan about as crazy and obsessed as myself. I hate watching with casual fans.

There's a bar in DC where Ole Miss fans meet to drink and watch ball. I'll usually head there.

I like to wake up on Saturday mornings, toss together a huge breakfast - homemade biscuits, bacon, hashbrowns, a few bananas - brew a pot of coffee, and nosh all that shite down with a bit of Makers (you know, for the coffee) while watching College Gameday. After that, I'm definitely in the right spot.

I have a buddy who isn't a hipster but is hipster-adjacent. His "other friends" tend towards hipster, and all of their friends are hipsters.

It was living hell trying to watch a game at his house last year. All pearl snap shirts, beard stroking, ironic comments, pop culture commentary...

I wanted to cut a bitch. I left at the half for Bdubs.

It hasn't been a problem for me since I've been in Lexington for the past 6 years. After this month I'll be home in Louisville as of now which also won't be a problem since I can watch with my dad or my other friends who are die hard UK fans when I can't make it to the games. If I end up moving to Jax, it will be a bit of a problem. My GF is a UK fan, but, well, she's a chick.

We went 11-2 last year because I strategically switched to gin one game on a whim.

Funny, that's also your team's game day ritual.

Ritual: Drink, yell, celebrate or cut my wrists, then drink some more.

Let's just say that it involves a tub of Crisco, a fattening calf, and lots and lots of tears of shame.

I know this may sound crazy, but I have actually gotten to the point where I prefer to not make it to the game. Now, before you go nuts, at least hear me out. First, I don't live in Eugene anymore. Bend, Oregon is only about 2 hrs and 45 minutes to 3 hours (depending on traffic) from Eugene. Now, I enjoy a good time. And as crazy as this sounds, I can actually "see" and "hear" the game better on television better than at the stadium. When watching a game at the stadium, you miss certain plays, etc....

So, being that my back yard backs up to the Deschutes River....

...which holds a very nice and spacious deck
...I can hold 20-30 people on my deck (covered in Christmas lights), with a very new and nice outdoor fire place, grill, a couple kegs of great native Oregon beer, and the most important thing....a nice, big, and clear projection screen. That my friends, is why I prefer to be at home than at Eugene.

Considering I really don't know what it's like to not be there in person...probably just watch it on TV...
