They are duking it out now on ESPN. What is the degenerate gambler wager on this one?

NC State has never been big at all in my lifetime. FSU has for sure.

NC State was great in college basketball in the early 80s.

That's all I've got.

NC State is just an enigma. They have all the tools to be at least at FSU/Clemson level. Big and alumni base and largest school in the state, great location, good recruiting territory. They actually care about football there more than most other NC schools. Yet they just don't invest in it. They have a smallish stadium that's 10 minutes from campus. They don't spend on building facilities and are generally happy to just make a bowl most years. North Carolina as a state is ripe for the picking for a school to decide to dominate the scene there.

They just need to build a 75k stadium on campus and invest in coaching and facilities. Do that and they could be very competitive fast. That said I think they have a lot of issues being in the UNC system and UNC has controlling votes over them that benefits them in some ways but limits them in others. FWIW it's also strange they aren't in the AAU, they have the ranking and research spend to more than qualify. Great engineering school.

What do you mean? Look at these two elite defenses as these offenses are struggling to score lol. A 7-3 slugfest
