I think the decisions are made prior to the season. I’m not sure why, perhaps they have to plan the trip and get hotel rooms, etc.. then again, isn’t the picture the same.. perhaps for announcers?
Either way no one really watches.. but this guy does..

Enjoy your inaugural SEC baseball season. With the exception of Arkansas, you were gifted a very nice home schedule. It won't be that way every year.

4x4 - That is literally the easiest an SEC baseball schedule gets. Not easy, but nothing like completely stacking the deck. Oh, it is Texas. Makes sense now
