The irony on this is thick,
Because the reverse has been ... Kentucky has been the better team, clearly, on the football field for about a decade. Granted, they always found a way to beat themselves for a bit. But its been pretty plain, under Mark Stoops, Kentucky > Florida in football.
Florida has been one of those games, when looking at the regular season schedule, that I've called a Win for Kentucky.
The times. They change.
Because the reverse has been ... Kentucky has been the better team, clearly, on the football field for about a decade. Granted, they always found a way to beat themselves for a bit. But its been pretty plain, under Mark Stoops, Kentucky > Florida in football.

Where's the irony? We have more than just one spot. And have won 6 national titles in the time period of this topic. In fact, we won one of them last year.

Dude. Calm your Jimmie. I did not mean to rustle it.
Its just ironic. Back in the Spurrier days, it was all about Gator Football. And now ? Well - props where they are deserved. Florida has been an excellent basketball school. Under multiple coaches. Better than Kentucky. I said it.
But who would have thought, back in the Tim Couch days, that Kentucky would be a better Football School ? That's all I'm saying.

In basketball ? Florida has done quite a bit. In football ? Spurrier and Tebow have been gone a while.
Kentucky's basketball drought is not as long, believe it or not, as Florida's football drought.

Until Texas joined (and A&M won this year) we were the only volleyball team in the SEC to have an NC.
And Florida traditionally was strongest in the conference.

We are next tier
Tier 1 is Kentucky, UNC, Duke
we are at the next level with Michigan State, Indiana, Georgetown, UCLA, UCONN's(I do nof consider UCLA elite anymore..they haven't been amazing lately at all)
We need a few more titles before tier 1 consideration

I would never suggest Florida is a Tier 1 basketball program. I don't think that's what's stated by the OP either.

Funny for you to call out Mike White having “mostly bad years.” He did more than Pope and Gillespie.
Coach Cal kept your program from completely imploding.
Replacing a roster than went to 4 straight elite 8s and a final four is pretty tough for anyone to do.
These are just some convenient points that aren’t backed up by fact when OP points out the facts.
