First Place Votes in the Coaches Poll

For the 9/20 poll:
Texas (46), UGA (16), IN (9), ND (2)*, Miami (1).
*Ranked higher than IN
For the 9/27 poll:
Texas (45), UGA (17), IN (8), ND (3)*
*Ranked higher than IN. Also, Miami is ranked higher than IN but received no first-place votes.
For the 10/4 poll:
Texas (45), UGA (20), IN (8), ND (10)*
*Ranked higher than IN. Also, Miami is ranked higher than IN but received no first-place votes.

Indiana consistently gets more first-place votes than both ND and Miami, yet ranks below them.

Because those 1st place votes are from stupid people who think you are #1 until you lose if you won the NC the previous year, while most other people rank them much lower.
