What list of coaches would you have hired over Bielema at Arkansas?

and? It looked like shite. Just like it did at Wisconsin
I disproved your point and you tell me looked like shite
Our talent was the problem, not the play calling

I don't care enough to tell you why each of those aren't better than 2B's
so I'll just say nice list

Yeah that's a pretty stinging indictment against ole Suitcase Mike.

ETA: Thank fricking God Coach Frank Martin didn't end up there, I bet he would have ran off all of Pelfrey's recruits like he did our previous coaches recruits. Hence why we are in a major rebuild. But it will be worth it next year. Arky fans would have ran him out of town with pitchforks after his first year
I guess I think the two programs are different in more than one way tho. Arkansas has something of a proud basketball tradition. They are not an elite program but they are one of the better SEC programs. Their football team has also gone into the dumpster at the same time MA has failed to live up to (perhaps unreasonable) expectations. South Carolina meanwhile doesn't have the basketball history of Arkansas and the fans can be content to some extent with the knowledge that their football program has literally never been better than they have been the last four years.
Should one sport's success or failure spill over and affect the other sports? Maybe not, but it seems to happen pretty frequently. When the AD is the one doing the hiring and firing for multiple sports there's a bit of logic (Long having two football coaches embarrass the program prior to BB was bad and MA failing to succeed at the level you expect looks worse as a result IMO)

Sadly, Mike Anderson could not make the tournament for the next 2 or 3 seasons and still be the coach of the Razorbacks. Bielema will not make a bowl this year either but he will have another 3 seasons to make one and if he does it will be sold to the remaining fans of the shambled program as progress and a reason to keep him.
Arkansas has the worst AD in the country who has taken roots into the program and destroyed it all for his own self serving game. Unless changes at the top happen you will continue to see Arkansas, who once was a mediocre SEC team turn into a perpetual bottom feeder.

Sadly, you're still breathing. No way he gets 3 more seasons without making the tourney and I'm doubtful he gets 2. One more is fair however- it's not like he's been here for 10 and we're still discussing this.

You say a lot of words about the razorback program, but I don't know why you care. Afterall you changed your fan affiliation based on one coach. You do know you are the new wildrebeltime right?

That wasn't directed at you, just a general statement to the thread. I don't really consider any hog fan my enemy, although you have plenty of trolls here in your fanbase.
For what it's worth, it's the way Mike left Mizzou that was messed up. He recruited zero players his last year here. Now that he is struggling big time, that, imho is Karma in action.

the irony of you claiming karma is the fact that Mizzou is worse off than when Mike left you guys.
works both ways.

and if Karma is real maybe that's why Haith is struggling, leaving Miami in the middle of an NCAA investigation. that's worse than what Mike did.
Posted on 1/23/14 at 8:29 am to Latarian
You could be right that we are worse off. A case can be made that due to Mike not bothering to recruit therefor not landing one player his last year put Mizzou behind the 8 ball. Haith certainly didn't help matters by being under NCAA investigations. Lat, you're calling for Mikes head, if any hog fan can see how he fricked up both programs in the short term, it should be you.

2-21 on the road while at Arkansas.
Posted on 1/23/14 at 8:32 am to Latarian
Come on Lat, you are smarter than this. Haith was going to be fired at the end of that year. He jumped at the chance of leaving. I'm not defending Haith, nor will I creampuff what Mike did to Mizzou. Again, I dont care he left Mizzou, it's how he did it.
Posted on 1/23/14 at 8:32 am to Mizzou4ever
we're not much worse off than under previous two coaches, same old shite. it's not like he wrecked our program, it has been like that for a decade.
I could argue Haith hasn't done a gone job of recruiting kids who will be in the system for a while, not getting a new crop of transfers every year, that's unstable.

and how is how he left mizzou any different for any coach? very rare they meet with media or even players to tell them first. hell Haith didn't when he left Miami and they ended up okay.
look at Bobby Petrino if you want to see what it looks like for a coach to wreck a program
