Auburn won. It was close, as usual....but quit bitching about it.

Auburn won.

On a related note regarding the SC Trojans; they are the first program in final AP poll history to finish in the top three with 3 losses.

I give them credit for how they finished. They had a similar run to the end of the 2002 season when many thought they were playing the best football at the end; finishing 11-2 lead by Heisman winner Carson Palmer.

Shows that the coaches know best

Florida finished by losing two of their last three games. Meanwhile, LSU won its last two games convincingly. Not surprising that LSU would be ranked slightly higher, especially, considering how close the h2h was and how similar the two records are.

I look for a resurgence of SEC in the top 15 this year. Bama, Auburn, LSU and Georgia imo will be there. If quarterback works out for Auburn and LSU then they will be very tough to beat.

Are you bragging? Auburn did the same thing in 2010 against a brutal SEC West.... ...and won a National Championship, unlike Alabama last year.

USC did fine.

Get over yourselves.

I'm well aware of the fact that they had an overall decent season.

Considering, however, there were teams with better records below them (including at least two playoff teams) that didn't have a 6+ TD loss on their resume seems a bit forgiving.

They're the highest ranked 3-loss team ever as well. Only one other 3-loss team ever made the top 5 (Navy, 6-3 in 1944).

By the way, I was correct - they are the only top 5 team that has had a loss that big:

Heck, only 14 times has a team finished in the top 10 with a loss of 30 points or more. The previous record was held by the 2014 FSU team that lost by 39 in the 2014 playoffs to Oregon.

It will be interesting to see how Georgia, Texas A&M and Arkansas does this season given their results against the top 25 last season.

They all could have had great seasons last year by a mere touchdown per game.

Their fans must have gone crazy with the coaching decisions.

We had some bad coaching decisions and some good ones but what did us in was our atrocious (historically bad) run defense. Anyone with a running game more lively then a 90 year old with a walker put up monster numbers on us.

Added to our horrible conditioning and tendency to fade in the second half of games it made for a long season.
