Not happy with the amount of yard work I had to do today, but bulk pick up is tomorrow, gotta make moves. This is not going to be a good summer.

It won't surprise anyone. It would fit right in with the carnival atmosphere up there after Bobby P's Famous Ride. This thread proves why other SEC fans get a good chuckle at the delusion of Arkansas fans. Your fanbase is obviously in deep pain right now and acting out to an extent. That doesn't make it any less funny or enjoyable. As someone posted earlier, don't let the doorknob hit you in the arse on the way out.

I make it my mission from this time forward to never let its memory die. I will bump it annually for us to laugh at it and poke it with a sharp stick.

For what reason exactly? Those 0 SEC Championships you have won during that time period? Houston Nutt? Give me something here.

You are not simply being obtuse and cherry picking parts of a quote, you freaking changed it. We have us a liar here fellas.
My quote was:
"I'm fairly well traveled, specially in B1G country. Clemson and other ACC teams never come up, even Free Shoe U. They are has-beens.
When Arkansas is discussed, our history in both the SWC and the SEC is respected. ON the otherhand, I am usually discussing college football with knowledgeable fans, not a bunch of college kids or recent grads on a message board."
Arkansas has been respectable in the SEC. We've had some decent football teams, specially the DMAC/Jones/Hillis team. We have been to Atlanta a few times, never crossed the hurdle though. Arkansas is competitive and plays tough in a conference even though Arkansas has a disadvantage in talent. Respect for the basketball program, track and field and baseball.
Now I understand that LSU is at the pinnacle of their program, it's never been better and likely never will be the same after Miles leaves. Realize one thing, LSU, Bama, and FL need the conference to be strong in order to give their achievements legitimacy. If the SEC were to go the way of the Big XII where the top teams are really good and everyone else is atrocious, the SEC will lose its position as the best conference. It is extremely myopic for those fanbases to beat their chests and degrade the other teams in the conference. Certainly celebrate your success, most of the other fanbases support other SEC teams but why do you degrade others? Fact is, yYou need the other teams to be good or at least competative.

I agree that we want the conference strong top to bottom. But Arkansas' place in that heritage of strength is being vastly overstated by you and most of the other Hog posters here.

What exactly are you basing this on? Hope?
Also, I thought Miles sucked

Where have I stated that? Link it up.

Where have I ever said Miles sucks? Look at his record? Has LSU ever had a coach with his record? IIRC, Saban doesn't have as good a winning % as Miles at LSU.
Am I wrong in that? (serious question)

I just mean the general attitude from other fan bases about how Miles is an idiot, winning with Saban's players, lucky, etc.
Yes he has the better winning %
And while every program goes through ups and downs, winning 2 National Titles in a short period has a way of changing a program's mentality. When i was a kid we saw 9-3 as a good year, now it's a ""WTF is going on?" year. We're never going back to the pre-Saban LSU as long as my generation is around.

I was in college in the 90s and well remember LSU's standard at that time. Dinardo was ok (did he or Curly bring back the white jerseys?), Saban took it to another level but Miles kept that machine pumping.
Miles keeps having 10+ win seasons, recuits excellently, his players love him, and he wins. His only fault I have seen is his loyalty to under performing assistant coaches but with the staff is really good now. Miles set the foundation for Gundy at OSU. I thought hiring Krags was a good move for LSU, too bad about his diagnosis.
Who wouldn't want Miles?

Never say never though. Look at Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida State, etc........ Nothing lasts forever.
I don't see LSU declining anytime soon though (ie in the foreseeable future).

LSU will do what no other team in the world has ever been able to do. They will win no less than 9 games from here on until the end of time.

I hear ya loud and clear. I've pretty much given up but there is some advantages. The greatest Field Marshall since Hannibal retiring batting 500 or less against CLM will amuse the hell out of me till the day I die. After a while the 'fluke' crowd become a caricature of themselves.

In the 70's and 80's 8-3 was pretty good and 9-2/10-1 was like a super bowl.

Man...ND, Canes, FSU, UT (Vols type)...that's why I really enjoy the here and now. I think CLM will finish well. The trick is hiring a good HC 3 times in a row. That seems a tad rare...but maybe CLM will have one last shamrock
