I'm not getting where this "40 seconds - 20 seconds left" fantasies are coming from ????

I think it is coming from the fact that LSU was in field goal range with plenty of time and I believe a timeout or 2. With all those factors and the fact that LSU won on a last second touchdown catch when it should have never come to that is what Miles gets criticized for.

LSU was going to win either way, you just have wonder what the heck was Miles thinking. He didn't need to win the game on a 20 or 30 yard bomb.

Because the way the wind was blowing, the field goal was not automatic, why not take a shot?

Not saying he shouldn't have taken a shot. He had 40 plus seconds to take a shot. If they take a shot at 20 seconds left, an incomplete pass stops the clock.. Still plenty of time to run a couple more plays.

The shot he chose to take left him a no margin for error. If AU tips the ball away there is a good chance time runs out.

If what you listed is not "luck" of "fluky" then I do not want to hear one more LSU fan claim that Mallett to Hamilton both times last year were fluke plays.

nah, the fluky crap in the arkansas game last year was when our punts repeatedly hit the skycam guide wires

by the way, that's supposed to mean that they replay the down.

With an LSU clock operator? Not a chance

You are arguing with a guy that references Chizik in his name. His Les criticisms are 100% irrelevant. Les>>>>>>Chizik and it isn't even close.

fans don't like getting their arse kicked by Les Miles so they resort to blaming it on witchcraft and voodoo.

We can only hope the players on the teams these dumb asses pull for think witchcraft, voodoo and luck are involved.

Hopefully the players on these teams are thinking, "There's no reason to practice and prepare for LSU because they are going to be lucky enough to beat us anyway".

Talk about being in people's heads.

Newsflash: THEY DON'T LIKE LSU.

They are going to cling to any little old thing to try to tear us down and in your case, they were successful.

Just shoot them the bird and laugh at them while reminding them how that scoreboard tastes the next time they cry about that Les Miles "luck" after they just got served a slice.

Miles has a lot of close games. "Luck" can be on your side or against you in those situations. I think it's a function related to close games. shite happens in those situations but I don't necessarily call it luck.

When some things happen that are very unlikely to happen, I guess I could call that "luck", but it still works both ways.

How can a coach get lucky for 10 years as a HC. CLM has a career 70% win rate overall and 80% at lsu with a ring. The Overall record is very similar to NS and yet NS is deified. Ok St was 2-9 when Les took over. Now, they are still reaping rewards from the work Les did there. This is also similar to how Lsu is still benefitting from the foundation NS laid down.

Some luck is a part of football but to simply say Miles is lucky is ignorant. Check the numbers otherwise known as facts and suck it.

I don't know how anyone could say that luck isn't part of what Miles brings at this point. That's not an insult, he's just won more then his share of would be losses by the skin of his teeth luck at this point. It's exciting.

If some of his luck would have rubbed off on Bo, Nebraska wouldn't have lost 2 championships by 4 points or at :01 seconds. Hell if luck meant being the team winning games like: LINK I'd take luck every day. Why on earth would you take offense to that?

Because if you read between the lines they're saying he's a shitty coach and his success is all due to luck. Thats why i take offense to that.

And i love the "its gonna run out sooner or later" Been hearing that going on 7 years now.

Then just laugh to yourself and realize that if a game comes down to the wire you've probably got a better than 50/50 chance at it with your coach. Who else could say that in the SEC?

Outside of his well publized other breakdowns (Ole Miss and UT) this was the worst exhibition of clock management in recent history.

They really were extremely lucky that they caught the pass. It wasn't even a constructed gamble like he tried to act like it was.

It was an straight up accident.
