I think that Kiffin and Orgeron have been so ridiculous that we have no idea of what this team is actually capable of athleticaly. While Kiffin was with USC, they did great but many have said that he had little to do with that success. We all know what he didn't do with the Raiders! And we know that he's stuck his foot in his mouth in the press on multiple occasions. Does he also do that with his players? Probably - the whole orange Lamborghini episode is evidence of a defective mind. His missteps and lack of judgement are already apparent and will translate into disaster at Tennessee. He'll follow Orgeron in the footsteps of good recruiting followed by poor gametime decision making.

7 or 8 games is what most experts are predicting.
9 wins would be a best case scenario or a real "surprise". 8 wouldn't be a surprise at all. I know most of you hate Kiffin's guts but i'm really surprised that a lot of you think we have another losing season with that schedule and the returning talent.
I mean frick we literally GAVE 3 games away last year. We should have won 8 last year. We had no business losing to UCLA, Auburn or Wyoming. I can't believe yall think we lose to fricking UCLA.

Like the picture UGA took last year?

Believe it. You have a much shittier coach than you did last year. Enjoy the offseason and the whole "any publicity is good publicity" attitude for another few weeks before we stop talking and start playing football.

That whole franchise is a train wreck. I'll be stunned if they have any success while that lunatic is running the show.

While I didn't like this stunt, his "defective mind" has kept those kids out of jail. Which is more than can be said about other SEC schools
I'm still waiting to judge Kiffin, as I've already stated. If he wins, I don't care what he does or says as long as it's within the rules.

WHAT THE frick MAKES YOU THINK HE IS A SHITTY COACH WHEN HE HASN'T COACHED ONE GAME YET. God Kiffin haters are drinking more koolaid than we are.
Let me guess he had a bad record with the RAIDERS. I suppose he should have coached the Dolphins when the terrible college coach Nick Saban ran away after sucking it up there. NFL record means shite.

Don't let Jort Nation rile you up like that man!

I wish I had more of a track record to go by but, unfortunately (for Tennessee), this is the only head coaching experience the man has. If you read closely, I did not say he was a shitty coach, I said he was shittier than the coach you had last year. You might have heard of him. He has won more national titles than Lane Kiffin. And no, rings that you got as the recruiting coordinator at USC don't count.

He made only have rings as a recruiting coordinator but, as I pointed out before, he was OC of the most productive offense in College Football history. And he's handed the reigns of the defense to the best defensive football coach of the last two decades.
I really don't see how thats such a step down in coaching. Certainly not without even one season to analyze.

Dick LeBeau doesn't work in Knoxville.

So your point here is that what you did in the NFL doesn't matter for head coaches but means you're the best defensive football coach of the last 20 years if we're talking about coordinators? I'm not saying Monty Kiffin isn't a great coach (at least at the pro level), but your logic is a bit fuzzy.

I mean, technically you're saying that if Kiffin had an unbelievably successful record as an NFL head coach, that also wouldn't mean anything, since "NFL record means shite." Right?

You used logic with a Volunteer. He's beside himself now.

Yeah, he really dug his own hole. All I had to do was cover him up.

Kind of like using history against a Gamecock.
Anyway...I can see your side of the argument. There's nothing to base his success on. We'll all find out together this fall. But, put yourself in our shoes...if he was your coach, wouldn't you defend him? Please keep the smartass comments to a minimum.

So your coach does this non-stop and you defend him (including kicking off the campaign with a totally baseless one directed at my alma mater), yet I have to keep them to a minimum? I don't see how that's fair.

I'm saying to take yourself completely out of the shoes of a Florida fan and put yourself in our shoes. As a fan of a certain team you feel like you should defend your coach, and that's what your seeing from a majority of Vol fans. We are all hoping he does well and wins games, but we're just like you. Waiting to see if he can back it up

6-7 wins is very realistic. 8 wouldn't be too far of a stretch.
