They probably will lose. That having been said... they did play a big boy schedule this year and went undefeated. Yes, some of the teams that are usually really good weren't worth a crap this year.
Still they played 10 P5 squads and beat them all. Their G5 games were with Ball State and Navy, two teams that have been respectable for the last decade but just had a miserable year this year.
I suspect they will not have the offensive firepower or defensive prowess to beat Clemson. Notre Dame seems like a team that is pretty good at everything but not great at anything. Either Clemson jumps on them at the beginning and they collapse or they hang around for a half and then Clemson pulls away.

The new litmus test is 4 best teams at the end of the year, not most deserving. Hell UCF is deserving...

I watched several of Notre Dame's games (thought that Bama might get them in the CFP). On the whole, this is a much better football team than Bama played in 2012.
They are extremely well coached, especially on defense; rarely out of position.
Book is a top-notch QB. He reminds me a lot of Charlie Brewer (Baylor).
ND's problem is team speed. If you watch them, then put on a Clemson game, it just jumps out at you.
I look for them to keep it close for the first two-three quarters, but suspect Clemson will put it away in the 4th.
