Inadvertently! He never addresses anything, but you bring up a great point....Us mountain folk can make a structure in their end zone. Complete with a still.

Choctaw Hog - I live in Texas so I think it funny how you give A&M a free pass (and funnier that you, fan of an expansion SEC team yourself and one that hung with Texans for the majority of your sports program's existance, thinks yourself qualified to make judgments about SEC fit. You are still a relative newbie on your owon).

I mean really, the Aggies have a hardon for the SEC cuz you let them get away from Bevo's shadow, but they are still Texans. As a Piggie fan you know what Texans are like. They aren't Southerners and don't identify as being anything other than Texan, everything outside it is inferior and irrelevant to them. So I don't buy the culture part.

The football product? Meh, A&M has been far more mediocre/unsuccessful than Mizzou the last 8 to 10 years or so. Mizzou has beaten them 5 outta the last 6 meetings, been to way more consecutive bowl games, finished in the Top 25 more recently, been ranked #1 in the nation more recently, been to conference title games more recently, has a more stable coaching situation, I could go on. We are the better football product for the SEC to obtain right now, period.

Funny? What I posted wasn't intended to be funny and I stand by my opinion that A & M is a good fit for the SEC and Missouri isn't. Sorry if that makes you unhappy but Missouri is a much better fit with Big 10 teams like Iowa Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, and Minnesota than they are with teams like Arkansas, LSU, Bama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss. State, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina.

Additionally, A & M has a long and storied history with 2 of the 6 SEC West Teams; Arkansas and LSU, while Missouri has a long and storied history with Big 10 rival, Illinois. In fact, Missouri has played Illinois 24 times dating back to 1896.

On the whole "fit" argument, I'm not going to argue one way or another because I see both sides. BUT a lot of you do seem like you believe that there is some sort of "Berlin wall" around Missouri, and that the very instant that you cross the border from Arkansas, Tennessee, or Kentucky that you are in a completely different world. That is simply not the case.

Again though, I see both sides of the argument here.

Notice how many Mizzou fans have anti-Arkansas sig lines, but complain about SEC fans viewing Missouri as a "completely different world".

That's like saying because Auburn and Alabama aren't fond of each other, they are in completely different worlds too.

Nah, the berlin wall begins around Springfield.

We might not be deep southerners but damn, we are more country than Missouri and can relate more to the SEC. Football is religion in Texas. I'm not sure that could be the same for Missouri. A&M has been pretty damn mediocre. They have been a true disgrace in the past 12 years, but people still show up and fill the stands for the most part. If you don't buy the culture fit, then how do you view your own school's "fit"?

Why are you coming at me with that song and dance? I really don't care. My discussion is with Mitchy.

As long as we win then I'll be happy. Otherwise, I could care less what you tell yourself about A&M to sleep better at night...

ECU would be a good cultural fit and I would hate to see that happen cause we already have to battle against State, Clemson, SC, VaTech, UGa and UT for NC recruits

ECU isnt that big a school but I think they could have a lot of potential if they moved to the SEC

regarding TV markets, UNC and NCSU dominate the state. there are very few Duke fans/alums in NC and while Wake alums are more common its still a tiny school enrolling like 5,000

ECU probably has the third largest fanbase in NC but very few of them reside in the RDU/Triad/Charlotte area's. Some in Raleigh, but almost all are in eastern NC in the Greenville/New Bern/Washington market and Wilmington market
