Does Finebaum actually have any football knowledge?

from what little I see of him, 90% of what he says are vague cliche statements. What exactly are his credentials other than riling up Bama and Auburn fans?

I just find it hard to believe this guy is paid well to be on tv and radio just to troll. Is that essentially what he is? is he just famous because of his callers? this confounds me because he seems to know very little about the game.

He knows shite. He just learned to shut up and let the idiot callers take over the show. If someone every asks a legitimate question he has to google the answer

The extent of his knowledge might be limited to knowing the correct number of players allowed on the field. That could be a stretch.

I thought he played left tackle for Bama under Bear in the early eighties, but I could be wrong.

yea but cowherd talks more than Finebaum. i think they'd be equal if Finebaum didn't have so many callers

People who watch/listen to Finebaum are trashy. Its an embarrassment to this conference.

Most of his opinions are spot on about teams, coaches, etc. He's obviously not going to be breaking down film. And he also trolls pretty well.

he's like Maury povich yet somehow he ends up being the face of the conference because of all the trashy sidewalk bama/auburn fans.

Like Cowherd, I've never really heard Finebaum break anything down.

I think he's a great interviewer one on one when he has a guest or on tv

That's all I can say positive. He's mostly Jerry Springer

I didn't. I'm not an Alabama local and had barely heard of him until recent years.

never heard him say anything more technical than "he's got a fire under him and will play well this weekend"

Jerry is a better example than Maury. nice.

His show is like the Jerry Springer of college football. I am guilty of watching the train wreck from time to time for laughs.

I didn't mean you personally. I meant parts of your and bama's fan bases.

No, he's a color guy like Verne. Different colors though.

He really does do a good job with the interviews. That's the only time I listen. The second he starts taking callers, it's off to classic rock.

He has Greg McElroy (or somebody else, but McElroy is by far the best, IMO) on when he needs anything broken down.

Also like Jerry Springer, a lot of it is staged. The regular callers are paid and given storylines
