Long before Mizzou thought of joining the SEC, I often heard that the old line social aspect of St. Louis and its neighborhoods was a lot like the old line social aspect of Birmingham, Atlanta, etc.. Despite the fact that the yankee tigers defended Columbia from the scary southerners in the same way that the confederate tigers defended Baton Rouge and General Sherman's school from the wretched yankees, I think people fail to realize Missouri has a lot more southern culture than people realize. It was, after all, a border state....
For this reason, I see no reason that we can't put Mizzou equal to, or ahead of Arky in legitimacy.

Well, while your compliments are greatly appreciated and your feelings on the subject are clear, fan members of the schools in question don't officially have a say...

I sure am Glad this isn't a bone of contention for Florida.

Even if y'all weren't an original, Florida is speckled with southern north of Orlando. It is nearly full blown by Ocala. Y'all would be fine.

I think 2 major infractions within a 10 year period is a requirement.

Those are Native American.
South Florida rednecks are the worst. And they definitely aren't southern.

Well, They are redneck now if you ever have been there and I have.
I'll see if I can find a picture.

I mean not just because of the name...

I lived for a year in Morehead City, North Carolina. While I agree that Missouri isn't southern, I don't think southerners even know how to define "southern" properly anymore. Other than southern accents, rural North Carolina wasn't any different than rural Missouri. Truth.
If you don't bring up the Civil War or Mason Dixon Line (which many of you insist shouldn't be mentioned when discussing "southerness"), I find that our differences are based on sweet tea and southern accent, which ironically a lot of southern Missourians have a lot in common with y'all (not me of course).
I think it's a regional pride based on the obvious but not admitted, and therefore you have people posting retarded images of the United States if it was mapped by how people refer to soft drinks.
Completely retarded! And because of that, I'm glad that Missouri doesn't fit.

Err Arkansas was actually a part of the Confederacy if we are using the Civil War as legitimacy.

Famous Coochee rednecks
The picture they use to advertise the park
