Our joke of a school just kick the shite out Ole Miss.

And sweep in basketball. I like you Pank, but seriously man.

yeah that's the other thing about them that shows how retarded they are. they changed nicknames in the '60s and picked one already in use in the conference. dipshits.

yep. couldn't have said it better myself.

Our fan base is in the midst of trying to figure out a new on field mascot. My problem is, i don't want any mascot that isn't unique. I'm tired of all the cats, dogs, etc.

You know as well as I do if the university wouldn't have stepped in that those flags would still be waving.

Sorry if Im late on this thread, but if there is a no noise maker policy in the SEC, then how in hell does MSU or the SEC continue to let them use them?

There is. It's on the back of the tickets and there are even signs about it at the gates of Davis-Wade Ranch and Cattle Co.

Congrats....but that's 1 win compared to the big picture.

Like I said earlier. OM losing the egg bowl isn't what pissed me off.....but missing out on the Cap-1 game(read: PSU arse whoopin) is what pissed me off.

Instead....we got to keep this beautiful trophy.

I would be fine with never being able to see the Egg Bowl again for the rest of my life so long as at the end of the season, we get to take home a trophy like this or better.......or at least the opportunity for a better.

There is a policy but the policy has no penalty.

Exactly. I am a Tennessee Vol ticket holder and every ticket says on the back that the SEC does not allow noise makers. Yet, MSU gets to use 20000 cowbells. I just don't get it.

Really?

You should research before posting.

quote:

The game management rules adopted by the presidents are as follow:

1. Artificial Noisemakers-Football. In the sport of football, the game officials are charged with enforcing the conference ban on artificial noisemakers utilizing the following procedures:

a. The first time the referee detects the significant use of artificial noisemakers by those in the crowd, he will call a referee's timeout and issue a verbal warning through the public address system.

b. On the second incident involving the significant use of artificial noisemakers, the home team shall be penalized five yards.

c. On the third, and any subsequent, incident involving the significant use of artificial noisemakers, the home team shall be penalized 15 yards.

d. Game officials have the discretion to determine if the penalty is enforced against the home or visiting team.

2. Artificial Noisemakers-Other Sports. The ban on artificial noisemakers will be extended to all conference-sponsored sports. It was noted that the NCAA playing rules of many sports prohibit artificial noisemakers. In cases where the rules of the sport do not prohibit artificial noisemakers, the conference has the authority to impose fines as deemed necessary by the commissioner.

3. Institutionally Controlled Artificial Noisemakers. In cases where member institutions violate policies regarding institutionally controlled artificial noisemakers (i.e., bands, P.A. systems, etc.), the conference office shall first warn the institution and then impose fines no less than $5,000 for subsequent violations.

4. Fans Rushing Field/Court. Each institution is required to submit to the conference its plan for students and fans rushing the playing field or court at the conclusion of an athletic contest. It is suggested that each athletics department work with the respective president's or chancellor's office to adopt these policies and inform students.

5. Courtside Seating-Basketball. The conference office will provide a letter from the commissioner to be sent to any patrons holding courtside seats in the sport of basketball. Said letter should remind these seat-holders of their higher level of responsibility for actions and conduct before, during and after games.

ouch.

Here is a little secret on wishful thinking.
If you keep losing the Eggbowl and make your schedule up to DI standards, then that cotton bowl will be a long way away.

If you guys would have played PSU liked you did OSU. That game would have gotten ugly quick.

We played Bama, LSU, Tenn, Auburn, Arky, USCe, and Vandy. All bowl teams. 1 national champion, another top 10.

We play in the SEC. We're fine.

Matter of fact....do you really want to talk about OOC schedules?

1st Jax St....now Alcorn St.? Would you like for me to call up my buddy at Delta State for next year?

I agree. The conditions of the field at the Cap-1 bowl would have screwed us. Dexter's first cut would have snapped his ankles and we would have gotten beaten. But I'm willing to be that it would be low scoring as hell.

Maybe you should review the new NCAA policies on noisemakers before you try to put me down on knowledge.

This being said, I agree with you Pank. It actually would have been a good game. OSU just wasn't that good.
Ole Miss defense played better in the bowl game.

We did play GT, UH also OOC though
So, I can talk a little about that
