I think Stanford's loss to UW hurts them more than anything. LSU spanked UW.

I think the hypothetical you're talking about is contingent on Stanford not losing to Washington. In that case you'd have a 12-1 Stanford team, Pac-12 champs, having knocked off Oregon and now twice UCLA, with the only loss being essentially hosed by the refs vs undefeated #1 Notre Dame.
It's not that crazy an argument, but it's based on a hypothetical that didn't happen. No, a 2-loss Stanford team should not go over a 1-loss Alabama or Georgia team.

Do some of you actually think Stanford deserves a shot over the SEC champ?
I've seen NO ONE say that
typical Gump Bull shhit
but if there were a 4 team playoff, they deserve to go before Oregon but wouldn't
which will happen again and is a point of reference right NOW that the "new" system will be just as flawed

Stanford - Notre Dame matchup makes sense if you want to add the criterion - best student athletes.

PAC-12 CG ATTENDANCE: 31,622
That is how many people actually care about the Pac-12, UCLA, or Stanford. I bet Miami is THRILLED to not be hosting you. ND and SEC fans of ANY school will show up in droves.
The SECCG attendance is estimated at over 75,000
