Ethan Bright was from USP and I know him personally. He got into trouble that all kids get into their freshmen year of college. His parents made him go home and go to NWCC.

I was told that Cohen sent this kid home after two run ins with the law in the first couple of weeks of the first semester.

yep, bad news for the rebs. what was suppose to be the most talented team in a decade turns into a team that has to replace 3 starters. Though only 1 is irreplaceable and thats Ricco. Poly was a complete frick up and while murph played hard, we have two other posts that are bigger and more talented.

But good news for OM is that Mackey is done with classes and will report May 31st. Wild Rebel should be sick this year

No offense, but I dont think that Mackey can be anywhere near as good as McCluster was at Wild Rebel. McCluster was a 2nd round NFL pick and was one of the best all purpose players in the SEC last year, and one Ole Miss player that I respect the hell out of for his talents.

I dont know if you are saying that Mackey will be as good as McCluster, and if you are then Mackey is a lot better than I thought he is.

McCluster ran the wild rebel like 3 times last year. He wasnt our wild rebel guy. We just used him those three times because they were passing options and he was our best passer. Brandon Boldin was our wild rebel guy and he ran it about 10 times a game. Because our Offense should be stagnant we will probably run WR about 15 times a game

Mackey should be amazing running it because it is the first time we've had a passer run it.

McCluster was the main Wild Rebel for the past 2 years.

no he wasnt. He was the first half of the 08' season and then Boldin took it over, he seriously ran WR 3 times in 09'. I believe once against LSU. 1-1 TD

Bolden never took over for Dex. He came in and ran it occasionally.

Dex was THE Wild Rebel for the past two years. Bolden only ran the WR occasionally this past year.

But it wouldnt matter if we lost Mcfadden himself running the wild cat, Mackey should improve our WR next year. Not because he is more athletic than McCluster or a better runner than McFadden, but because he is a serious threat to pass and the fact our Offense will struggle therefor we will run the WR twice as much as last year. Passing threat and consistently are the two elements that produce a successful Wild Cat. Thats why the Dolphins runs it well because they run it half the game. You cant run the wildcat 5 times a game for it to be successful

Mackey should be a perfect fit for the WR. He can't run like McCluster, sure, but he can still move very well and can pass better. I am really glad he made his grades and will be on campus this summer. Some of the LSU posters that saw him play in HS said he was a truly special playmaker. That's what we need, a playmaker. Hopefully he will turn into a productive guy. This will definately take some pressure off of Stanley...

So does this mean Ole Miss will play 3 QBs this fall? With Mackey being the Wild Rebel throwing QB, and also with Cotton and Stanley splitting time???

At times, yeah. Stanley will be the starter. Mackey will run WR some, but I doubt Cotton will play much. Hopefully he won't need to.

possibly, we need a QB who doesnt turn the ball over not someone who throws 2TD's and 3 picks. So unless Stanley or Cotton can emerge as a dependable smart QB we will use both. And I think this is fine until we get to SEC play. I'd love for us to have a definite starter by October. Mackey probably will never be under center, just running WR. Yes he will have QB out beside his name but probably never be in a tradition QB role

My cousin who is a DIEHARD, Ole Miss Alum and football fan claims that Cotton is the best QB on campus and will end up starting before the end of this season. He said he showed out in the Grove Bowl.

yea a lot people like cotton. I think a lot has to do with the sour taste that stanley left in peoples mouth after the cotton bowl, but cotton looked excellent in the grove bowl. I think stanley will start, but cotton will play a lot in the OOC games no matter how stanley performs. Against Kentucky or Vandy he would see action when Stanley under performs. Then I'd assume before the Bama game we'd have a good understanding of who is the better QB and stick with him unless he pulls a snead in the middle of the season.
