Miami...and wasn't it Texas a few years back?

Both game 3s went down to the wire, too

Anyways, my biggest question mark is Pomeranz (sp?). He threw something like 130 pitches. And it's no secret that their Ace is hurt. Makes you question THAT aspect of coaching.

there were some rumors that Pomeranz's arm wasn't feeling too good after the game. And we know that the ace pitcher (don't remember his name) is hurt...just raises questions about how how he's managing the pitch counts.

I know. I'm just saying that our team has flushed this loss already as they did a week ago. I'm confident that we'll win tomorrow.

Pomeranz wanted the ball Monday and he wanted it today. He'll be fine to pitch our opener in Omaha if we get there.

We lost out best pitcher (Bittle) a few weeks ago, so Pomeranz has stepped it up big time. He's a strikeout pitcher, so he's used to high pitch counts. Bianco hasn't leaned on him to pitch deep into games often until recently.

Boom! The kid threw 119 pitches in a complete game monday, and after 105 pitches in 7 innings on friday.

follow that with 140 today.
overpitched.

I found it amusing that the announcers today felt like once a pitcher hits 100 pitches that he automatically has no more gas..who cares about the pitch count..if he still feels good and wants to pitch then whats the big deal

+1. Pom did not cost us this game. He pitched great. Our bats cost us the game. We can not string any hits together. It's sooo frustrating

You do know UVA only scored 4 runs?

You hold a team to 4 runs in College baseball you should win.

only two of those runs were earned.
Virginia has one of the best pitching staffs in the country, however.

Of course we should have scored more runs. Poor coaching has a hand in that, as well.

We should have won this game 5-2.
We should have lost yesterday 3-2
Both games the team that has looked better has given the other team the game.

If we lose tomorrow I would like Bianco to leave. I don't want somebody who keeps tripping at the finish line.

I honestly couldn't go along with that.
We overcame alot of adversity to get to this point.
We're here without our best player.
We return most of our players next year.
If Bianco does the same thing next year, It's time to let him go.

This team has flat out overachieved this season. Bianco is one of the main reason's this team got this far. Not many coaches can completely turn around a hitting philosophy like he did these past two years. It isn't easy whatsoever to turn a team from a power to small ball team.

We still have another game to play today. And if we do lose, Bianco needs to stay another year....

If we don't host a regional next year......then i will concede that he needs to move on.

I concur. In addition, not many teams get to 1 win away from Omaha without their ace pitcher.
