Salaries are based on many things...education being just one.
Geography, years of experience, tenure...all play equal or larger roles in salary determination.

First public university in the state. If you add grad programs and other schools, Ole Miss blows state out of the water in salaries.
Typically the flagship university of each state is the liberal arts school. Ole Miss is that. We have the only medical school and the premier law school in the state.
And if you add total students, Ole Miss is the largest university in the state.
