Like cowherd or not, he's really smart and makes great points and always has awesome analagies. He's not always right but you should usually try to listen to what he says. I don't always agree with him but most of the time he is dead on with what he says and I agree with him on this one.

Just b/c you hate Kiffin doesn't mean you should be that ignorant about Tennessee and the direction they are going. They will compete in the next few years for the SEC Title based on one fact alone, their defense is going to keep them in every single game. Once Kiffin actually gets something out of his offense they will be a force in the SEC. You've already seen what Monte can do with the defense he was handed, I can't imagine they will get worse given more time in the system and better players. Like it or not they are going places, only question is how much longer to Lane screws himself and puts the program under probabtion or worse.

I think they will have a very good defense over the next couple years but lose a ton next year... I also think the idiot but-not-savant will screw up a few times a year between not knowing rules, opening his mouth and inserting his foot, and will probably never carry UT to the same level of success that Fulmer enjoyed overall

Tenn fans ran him out of town but if you wanted a team with a good defense, coach that others made fun of, and more losses than wins against your major competitors you might have done better to keep Phil - he at least coached well enough to win a national championship
