The Media frenzy that would take place would be more than enough publicity needed for a top 6-7 SEC program(Arkansas) to take their recruiting to a whole other level.
Couple that with the fact he's a super bowl caliber coach, and you have the recipe for a highly succesful coaching hire.
Gruden could dominate the SEC and college football.
Oh yah, forgot to add, he's never going to coach college football.

Coach Gruden would be an excellent teacher for young college kids. The key for him would be to convince the young men whom he is recruiting to come to the Arkansas program and learn from the very best the NFL has to offer. That would mean delegating most of the teaching to top-notch assistants who know what it takes to mold and form men into potential NFL talent.
Also, to convince the young men that you are going to be at Arkansas for the long term and not pull up roots when the next big gig in the NFL comes along. You have to have the want to build Arkansas into a powerhouse and create for yourself a college football legacy. IF Gruden is "all in" then it could work nicely.
Of course, it is basically recruiting that wins games. If Coach Gruden took over the 2011 Alabama Football team, Alabama prob. still plays for a National Title. Talent wins period !

Check that..."learn from top-notch assistants who were once a part of an NFL staff ( or played at a high level in the NFL or worked with Gruden before).

Bellicheck and Payton aren't going to Arky
I get it - Gruden is telegenic and comes off very well on television. But this is the Harding effect and has very little to do with whether or not he would be a good college coach.
People were very sure Charlie Weiss and Mike Sherman would waltz into high school kid's living rooms and wow every recruit - it just didn't turn out that way

To be fair, neither of those guys were nearly as "public" as Gruden is. He's constantly on ESPN and MNF. That, alone, will buy him cred with recruits.
But, like I said earlier, I doubt it's him.

85% of college football is recruiting. All things being equal Gruden is a better coach
