Which, the "waxy" finish or whatever it is, looked sort of odd at first. As if it was faded and broken in without actually having done it, but I have never really been a fan of the white stitching along the sole, that seems to be everyone's favorite thing. I just wanted a classic brown boot, and that one did it or me. The heel also tapers inward on mine, or maybe it didn't use to, but only did after I get em resoled. That square thing looks odd to me.

My origional ones were made in California. Yes they now outsource them but they are they most comfortable pair of boots I have ever owned. I've owned US and China ones and the quality is indistinguishable. Ariat was founded by equestrian enthusiasts that wanted riding boots that performed more like athletic shoes. Most manufactorers that still make them in the US make these kind of gaudy uncomfortable arse clown boots pictured in the OP. If I am going to buy a pair of boots to walk in they will be Ariats anyday. If I am going to buy a pair of shiny belt buckles to walk around in and hollar "look at me, look at me" then the better choice would probably be Tony Lamas, Justins or the sidewalkers posted in OP.

LOL, let me guess, Pearl?

If they don't make MSU ones, they're making a big mistake. We've got a ton of country folk who would wear the hell out of those - we'd probably sell more than anyone in the SEC outside of aTm.
At least you are starting to accept that you will be number 2 to A&M in every facet of your existence.

I imagine this is a Texas thing but boots are acceptable in just about any setting. For business things, I wear nice caiman boots and for daily/outdoor work, I have some cheaper calf skin stuff.

So I've always considered buying a pair of Aggie boots just for shits and grins, but never pulled the trigger on it, and it is mostly because of that douche Jason Cook and his making me markedly aware of our logo and branding and crap. If the serif on the A and the T don't line up properly I
won't buy it. It just makes my inner OCD cringe.

And I know it shouldn't matter to me at all... but it does. Although those boots are awesome.

I have never owned cowboy boots in my life and I have no plan of ever doing it.
Cowboy boots are not southeastern. Keep that crap in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona.

My times on Bourbon Street have always lead me to believe it was sort of normal among coon asses. It is normal among Okies as well. I mean I grew up in Dallas and went to school in the burbs. It wasn't too common among children, I never owned any because I was always ready to go outside and stuff and my parents wouldn't put money in to something I was going to outgrow... but pretty standard among adults and stuff. At church if there was black leather on a pair of feet it was a greater than 50 percent chance it was a boot.

Probly never would have bought mine for myself, but my wife knows me well, I guess. I dig the maroon more than the placement of the letters in the logo, but honestly the only reason I don't mind the serifs not lining up is because the logo takes up more of the barrel of the boot. So I broke my own rule, I guess. Plus, when wifey drops a bunch of mula on a badass bday gift, saying no is just stupid

God, I'm talking about fricking serifs
