Gus and Auburn were the ones that necessitated the faking injuries to begin with, and then they took it to a whole new level with their obvious faking.
Gus's offense that succeeded was built around cheap 5 yard penalties or snapping the ball while the defense was still on the ground from the previous play, pushing the limits on lineman downfield on pass plays, the Auburn time-honored tradition of chop-blocking and of course it was all fueled by Gus's relentlessly chewing of gum.

Either these players are, for lack of a better word, stupid to fake an injury while possibly being on camera when you do it.......or they've got some huge "man parts" to try & pull it off.

Missing the rest of the drive seems like the best deterrent. You can legitimately say a player needs to sit out a few minutes and take time to assess the injury that knocked them out of the game. Only downside to this is now people will say theyre going to play thru injuries and be to dangerous for the players. If people had just been decent about this to begin with it would have been fine. Unfortunately people aren't decent all that often.
Yep. I would think whatever you do to the defense, you have to also do to the offense. Taking a stud QB out with a late hard hit that costs the defense 15 yards maybe worth it if it means that QB can't finish the drive.
