Thank you Jesus. I didn't want us at #1.

Pretty much agree with them.
But here's where it starts to get interesting- and I think this could happen, so hear me out:

Let's say you have a 1 loss SEC Team, a 1 loss Big 12 Team, and undefeated Penn St., and a 1 loss USC team at the end of the year.

What happens? I only put USC in there because they can only really move up the rest of the year, so it's conceivable they could be # 2 in the polls, but behind in the comps ala 2003.

I'm glad we're not #1. I figured Texas would jump us.

I have constantly said that USC will have to lose 2-3 games or the coaches will continue to have them up there for the NCG.

I would say that it would be Bama/LSU/UF/UGA vs Texas.

The only way Penn St. gets in is if they go undefeated IMO. There schedule isn't near as tough as Texas or anyone from the SEC.

Nice of you to put us in there. But I don't see us as one of the top teams in the SEC right now. And it's not just because of last night. Our defensive issues have been there all season. So at this point, I am putting BAMA/UF as the 2 best teams. Though I honestly think UF is the best team in the SEC right now. I think the Ole Miss loss was a fluke. Maybe I'm wrong.

But the way I see it, at the end of the year I see the standing as:

Bama - 11-1
LSU 9-3

UF-11-1
UGA- 10-2

UF vs Bama in Atlanta.

Well Penn State is definitely in if they go undefeated.

It will be a 1 loss Big 12 Team only if it is Texas (who has a tough enough schedule to combat the proponents of the Brutal SEC Schedule). Otherwise it would be the 1 loss SEC Team.

Y'all have some issues on the DL and OL as I saw last night but y'all also have alot of speed and talent on both sides of the ball. I'm not writing LSU off just yet. Y'all only have one loss and can still make things interesting until the very end. I'm looking forward to y'alls game next week to see how ya bounce back.

Florida is in the same spot LSU was last year, shooting to the top 5 after a big win with one loss.
The SEC is so powerful, if you win convincingly after you lose you are right back in it. Unfortunately for Bama they will have to go undefeated to make it to the NC game. The other big thing to notice is OU did not fall much compared to everyone else when they lost their first game.

An unbeaten Penn State would absolutely be in the BCS Title Game. Penn State has been screwed over too many times when they've been undefeated, and the human interest angle of "sending out Joe Pa in style" would be too much to overcome for any other team to get the nod.

Agreed. We only have one tough game left (according to all the voters) and that's LSU. Of course every game is tough in the SEC and we can't take any of them for granted.

If Texas, Bama, and Penn St. were to go undefeated, things would definitely get interesting. The obvious choice with SOS would be Texas/Bama but the sentimental factor like you mentioned would play a part as well. I think the match up of Penn St./Bama would enter all of the voters minds for obvious reasons.

I just hope we continue to play with the same intensity and are there in the rankings at the end.

If everyone around us hadn't had their asses handed to them yesterday, we would have dropped a few spots. We definitely shouldn't be ranked #1....

I'm just thankful for the BYE week, there was a bug going around yesterday.

Penn State is in. The other half would be one of those two.

The polls would have Penn State in there, but the computers would be the deciding factor in their candidacy (edge to Bama and Texas for strength of schedule)
