If a team is playing better and winning against better teams, you don't leave someone above them just because of what happened in the previous year. I can see no feasible argument for, say, leaving Clemson above LSU.

You say this yet you or nobody else would put Baylor with the other top 7 teams. Baylor is undefeated in a p5 with just as good of wins as Clemson has. CFB makes zero sense and that’s why it’s dying.
