SEC teams only play about 3 good teams a year in conference, if they go 2-1 against them have shot at national title
who has SC beat last 4 years regular season outside of Clemson and UGA and a couple wins over florida when everybody was beating them.

why are you SEC fans so anti-laughing and having a good time? You are the most serious grim fans. The Sabanizing of the game is a buzz kill

Here is soome hero at the SPortingnews.com making the case SEC is overrated:
Somehow, in this crazy, ever-evolving college football landscape, the benefit of the doubt has become an unyielding gold standard.
This would be fine if the SEC weren’t so, well, overrated.
As a card-carrying member of the We’re-Better-Than-You-And-We-Know-It club, I feel as though I can speak to this subject with a sense of humility and grace when I explain thusly:
Get over yourselves, SEC. You’re not all that and a bag of Golden Flakes.
For some unbeknownst reason to us all, Alabama’s home loss to then-No. 15 Texas A&M is better than Oregon’s home loss to then-No. 13 Stanford. Texas A&M’s two losses are better than Florida State’s one. Kansas State losing to Baylor but possibly winning the second-best conference in the game, is worse than Florida losing to Georgia and not even winning its own division.
Think about this concept for a moment: The SEC claims to be better than everyone else, because the SEC plays the SEC week in and week out—and no one else can claim that, Jack.
Case in point: Georgia. The Bulldogs have one win over a ranked team (Florida), yet control their destiny in the race for the BCS national championship. And Georgia’s loss? Merely a 28-point butt-whipping at the hands of South Carolina—which lost to Florida by 33. And Florida lost to Georgia by 8.

Alabama has 15 MNC's, has a history of playing solid OOC teams, and has won the Rose Bowl more than most of the B1G and PAC teams and they have not let the Tide play there since World War II. In contrast Stanford has not played the SEC since the 1970's and it i hard to respect a PAC school that does not play a SEC school when the PAC has not been winning the MNC historically in the age of the BCS.

here's another good one from some dude at CBS:
It's a Ponzi scheme, this 2012 SEC fraud, built upon layers of air. Georgia is great because it has beaten Florida. Florida is great because it has beaten Texas A&M. Texas A&M is great because it has beaten Alabama. And Alabama is great because it has beaten ... um, who has Alabama beaten, anyway?
Alabama's best win in the league came against LSU, which struggled with mediocre Ole Miss and lousy Auburn and was given a scare by Towson or Towson State or Towson Christian or whatever that school is called. Before LSU, Alabama's signature victory was a 38-7 destruction of undefeated and then-No. 13 Mississippi State -- and Mississippi State hadn't beaten anybody either.

Yet no other team has beaten the SEC for the BCS trophy. There is that, but carry on. I am enjoying the thread.

The reality is the under-teams in SEC piggyback on the Saban and Meyer teams titles to paint this illusion that SEC is superior and use this to recruit more talented players.
That is why it is imperative for people, some say heroes, to expose the SEC bias and overhype.

quote:Yes, yes you did. But at the same time, a fellow USC fan pointed out that 5-3 is not .500.
I did point out that SC going 1-3 against Arkansas negates their 4-0 against Clemson, batting .500 against even programs.
This really is a great thread and I'm happy its still going.

you mean nobody has beat a Saban or Meyer program or SCam Newton LOL
Posted on 9/2/13 at 2:25 pm to CockRocket
lol, you are a stickler, straight out of the Saban school of no fun. LOL
Posted on 9/2/13 at 2:27 pm to OrangeCrush35
I think Saban has fun when he's winning championships every year. Dear lord why am I defending Alabama?
Posted on 9/2/13 at 2:27 pm to OrangeCrush35
Can somebody please explain what Auburn has to do with Clemson? I seen this myth floated that somehow we are their stepchild which makes me wonder who the father is. LOL
