Traditional powers?
Take out Miami (who sure hasn't done shite since joining) and combine FSU's, Va Tech's, and Clemson's NCs....that amounts to the same amount as LSU's. Ask Bama fans how shitty that is.

It's a golaith vs david story, really. CLemson really had no business beating top 10 SEC schools and yet they rose to the occasion. it really has inspired a generation of kids, i think.

Fun fact: Clemson is 2-12 against Alabama and hasn't won a game in the series since 1905.

number of national championships is a phony stat b/c without a playoff and a pretty small sample size of regular season games compared to other sports, it is hard to really determine who the best two teams are. There are always a lot of pretenders in title games, ND, LSU against bama, olkhoama a few years with that QB with artifical kneeds, etc.
I don't see naybody can deny FSU and VA tech are top programs, and Clemson was at least in the 80's and we've had our moments of glory since then including amazingly become known as the SEC slayer during our 4 game humiliation to SC , the historicaly worse large stae school program.
regardless ACC wins the national champ in academics every year, as well as character on and off the football field. we have student-athletes, while SEC has "athletes" who get tired and fall down at end of game writhing in pain and/or fake injuries so they can catch their breathe as the game slips away from them. LOL

what it is it since 1975 or so? Most of our losses to SEC teams were decades ago and Clemson is a smaller state school than most and really didn't have resources to compete with the bigger schools. gtech has a big lead over us in the overall serires but i think most people will agree Clemson is the slightly beter program last 30 years or so.

there are a few schools better than Clemson, mostly just bama these days, but the reality is Clemson is the soul of college football.
when you hear that espn slogan "college football lives here", you immediately think of Clemson.
