Through 11 games each year:

2008
Rushing: 1150 yds
Passing: 2370 yds
Total: 3520 yds
Points: 280

2009
Rushing: 1462 yds
Passing: 2082 yds
Total: 3544
Points: 162

The total points are probably skewed from last year due to UF's and UGA's 2008 offenses...both scored over 50 on LSU. Their 2009 editions are not on the same level as last year.

Where's the drastic improvemment you all expected this year over the two-headed DC of 2008? God knows we all heard how they were gonna dominate.

Is this really Les' defense?

But when you compare LSU talent to Tennessee talent....

God I really should bump some threads.

1st of all, he was comparing LSU's teams from '08 and '09. Secondly, UT had the 3rd best defense in the country last year with "inferior" talent. Lastly, LSU's offense is puke this year. It isn't Chavis, I promise...

I don't know how you can post the huge difference of the most important defensive stat and ask where the improvement is. Way to go, idiot.

So you think UF's and UGA's 2009 offenses are exactly as dynamic as their 2008 editions?

Idiot.

Dear Lord.

I know that. I was making fun of LSU fans from before the season saying that LSU's defensive talent is so far better than Tennessee so Chavis will have much more success at LSU than Tennessee.

our offense isn't nearly explosive as it was last year...however it is still a good offense...we have moved the ball extremely well on everybody..just haven't finished in the red zone

I'll give you UGA...but yeah, you're right...UF is a complete shell of what they were last year.

That doesn't change the fact that the defense hasn't been bad overall considering the offense and the complete inability to generate pressure of ANY kind. It is mind-boggling.

Our defense this year is better than last. There is no question. I don't need to see the stats. I've seen all of the games. You have to take into account they are on the field way more often with all of the 3 and outs on the part of our offense.

Last years D gave up an incredible number of big plays, always looked confused, totally blown coverages etc.

There are only two statistics that matter.

1. Offense - Points scored
2. Defense - Points allowed

If stat 1 is greater than stat 2 for said event, you win. How you arrived at stat 1 is irrelevent.
