Has ole miss ever had a no loss, not tie season?
1962. Unfortunately for Ole Miss Southern Cal was #1 and Wisconsin was #2 and they met in the Rose Bowl where Southern Cal won a classic, 42-37. Even with the titles awarded before bowl games, that Rose pushed Ole Miss' accomplishments further down.

Ole Miss truly was hosed in 1960
Didn't the Gophers get worked in their bowl game that year?
If so, I'll always consider 1960 a more legit claim than 1959, even though the '59 team may have better (thanks Billy Cannon

I know you'll be glad to know I have always considered Ole Miss' 1960 title legit.

The early 60s equivalent to Auburn 04, except USC skullfricked Oklahoma instead of played a classic.

My big issue with the CFL Mississippi show is that they had McComb and Brookhaven as the best HS rivalry. Everyone with any knowledge of MS HS football knows that Pearl vs Brandon is historically the best and most heated rivalry.

Warshington 1960 Champions You have more company from 1960. Washington waited 47 yrs to proclaim themselves champions.

Really?
McComb and South Pike were a much bigger deal for as long as I could remember.

The whole show was basically a fail. I would think NW Rankin vs. Madison Central is better and bigger rivalry than McComb and Brookhaven.

This might be a decent rivalry now, but when I was in school, NW Rankin was 4A and not a very good football school. Of course Brandon hasn't been very good since Jerious Norwood graduated.

Did this make a appearance on the CFL-Miss edition?

I love how that article has no mention of that undefeated Ole Miss team.

1960 National Champions you'll enjoy this article on the 1960 polls, season.

Interesting article. I didn't realize that Missouri had a good team that year either. The article's claim that Ole Miss had no black players and therefore can't be champion is hogwash.

This is the best, and has been for a long time.

More like, thanks Ross Barnett. The state legislature was busy keeping us out of the NCAA basketball tournament around that time as well.

Yeah the story about our basketball team sneaking out of town is a good one. the guys from that team should be honored by the school.

When you say a long time, just how long really?
Your long time or I-59's long time?

I'm willing to say this is likely, meaning all the way back to the year 2000.
