Gus ran the hell out of the ball when the defense wasn't allowed to sub players and he just wore teams out. He was the offensive genius guru at that time.

Then he became stubborn and failed to evolve or adjust his schemes once defenses adjusted to that meercat/HUNH offense. He could torch a team with the run in the early days though.

Always thought this game was peak Gus Bus in a good way. Missouri had no idea how to stop Mason. Auburn was really smooth and in sync that day.

Wow, great post!!

For some reason at first I thought Peerless Price wore #11, and then I remembered that was actually Joey Kent, and then also realized why I had attempted to erase that dude from my memory.
