"Yes. Exactly" you agree with me or "Yes. Exactly" you would have handled the situation the exact same way? Sorry, it occurs to me that you might have actually been being sarcastic in the post I replied to and I didn't catch it.

No one is saying they didn't make some missteps here. At least I am not. I was just sharing that coaching staffs take vacations after NSD. Obviously there are extenuating circumstances that can dictate what a staff should do.
However, it isn't out of the ordinary that they take a week off even after a coaching change. Like I shared most will split the the staff and take them at different times so there is recruiting at all times. Or someone available to handle issues that may arise.

Is it true Saban and Ce Ce were seen today together on South Beach?

I answered your question that responded to my post. Unless I lost track of things. If I am recruiting you it is to sign to a school, not to me.

Just showed that on TMZ and ran it on the bottom line.

Cece wants to be a gator. They have a gator doormat nailed to their house.

Okay, gotcha. I'm just baffled by the apparent (since it's second-hand, it's hard to judge properly) abruptness of the communication more than the actual vacation aspect. It just sounded like they weren't making an effort to accommodate CeCe, even superficially. But we don't have all the information, so perhaps they did what you're saying (taking vacations in shifts) and somebody in CeCe's camp overreacted to that information.
Just a clusterfrick all around, since I'm willing to bet that Gus and Nick and Hugh and possibly Les and Butch all contacted CeCe to assure him that he was a priority for them.

That second part has War Eagle written all over it.

Just saw the edit. In theory, you're right, but 5*s are almost always aspiring to go pro, so the importance of the relationship with the coaches is heightened for them. IIRC, there are life-long Auburn fans on the roster at Bama and life-long Bama fans on the roster at Auburn because of the importance of the connection with the coaching staff.

It is a difficult one to analyze with so much not known about what really happened. If you are to believe what the dad tweeted and interviewed then yes it was a huge blunder on McElwain and staff.
He did say that all of the other coaching staffs had phoned the morning after and they had not heard from UF at the time of the interview. If accurate that is not a great way to start the new job. However, overall the new staff sure did close strong and should get credit for that as much as the criticism.

Every day that he doesn't sign brings him one step closer to God speaking to him and his father suddenly discovering a large amount of cash.

We're trying from what I hear...

You would have to give an example of that. Assistants change jobs, that's not earth shattering information that surfaced this past Wednesday. There are more changes coming as the new NFL HCs start hiring.

It's time we all just give up on the "we run a clean program and you cheat" bullshite. This isn't your grandfather's college football.
In fact, the only thing dirtier that I can think of, off the top of my head, is AAU basketball.

True. Given the McElwain isn't yet a "Big Name", they do deserve praise for finishing strong.
As for the rest, I suppose we'll find out soon. If CeCe chooses to go to another university, it will be pretty apparent that the UF staff likely mishandled the endgame since CeCe is so vocally a fan of UF. If he does make it to Florida, no harm, no foul, just lots of angst on message boards.

That makes more sense than anything else these brainiacs are posting. Good god the total ignorance.

Agreed, maybe then we all can get along better and have real discussion again instead of always trying to talk shite pretending our team does it differently...
