This. It's a one-game season for you guys. Beat Vandy, and you're in. Lose, and you're not.

Don't care what Palm says/thinks. If you don't win today, you're NIT bound.

That's what scares me. It sets up for a WAOM moment. Kind of how big it was when we played Vandy the first time and shite the bed. Seems like every time we are in a huge situation.....the world stops long enough so we can frick up.

I dont understand why MSU keeps getting all the love as being in when down the stretch they sucked..Ole Miss has been the opposite..MSU is getting all the love because of wins early on. What have you done for me lately MSU to deserve to be dancing..

I don't have a lot of complaints about the NCAA tourney, but this "last 10" consideration is what needs to change about the selection process. An NCAA at-large bid is based on what you did ALL SEASON. But every time March rolls around, all anybody, including members of the selection committee, wants to look at is how the teams have been playing the last two weeks or so. Games won/lost in November and December should count just as much as games won/lost in February and March (otherwise, why play them?). The selection committee, which continues to preach that selections are made based on the entire body of work, is really hypocritical about this.

Anyway, on to the Ole Miss debate...

Ole Miss was a sure-fire NIT team before the SEC tourney. So now they've won a few in a row (including the regular-season finale against Bama). So what? While the Bama win was solid, wins over Auburn and Tennessee, neither of which are tourney teams, shouldn't somehow enhance the resume.

Ole Miss and State both have losses to LSU and Auburn, and both have wins over Bama. State also won at Vandy while also getting wins over West Virgina, Arizona and Detroit. Dawgs also have two losses to UGA. Ole Miss has an OOC win over Miami.

I think State's resume is just a little bit better. You can make cases for and against each team, and you wouldn't hear any argument from me. But if we're looking at the ENTIRE BODY OF WORK, State's work is a bit more impressive, IMO. Even with State's rough stretch to end the season, the fact is both teams finished with same 8-8 record in conference play. I just don't think two wins over a mediocre-bad team (Auburn) and a decent team (Tennessee) should carry a lot of weight for the Rebs.

Bottom line: Ole Miss was out, State was in before the SEC tourney. If Ole Miss doesn't find a way to beat Vandy today, I think it should stay that way.

Yea but we have 1 maybe 2 bad loses, @Auburn in 2OT and @LSU. State has loses to Auburn LSU and 2 to UGA. Plus our RPI is better. It just depends if the commitee takes better wins or worse losses more heavily into consideration.

I think State is in the NIT regardless of what happens in this SEC Tournament. If Ole Miss loses this evening, then yeah they are more than likely in the NIT as well. But there have been surprises in the selection before. But I'd be surprised if State slipped into the Dance.

We win today and we get in. We lose and we won't. It's that simple. Personally, I think Henry won't let us lose today. Lets go Rebs!
