There's only one view of the play and it's not the best, but that's all we've got.
The key is "targeting"... If you look at the video, 24 is attempting to make the tackle and grabs the runner's legs. The runner is twisting and starting to go down. As he does, 84 hits the runner with the crown of his helmet. Because the runner is turning and 84 is within a step, I don't see the hit rising to the standard of "targeting".

your right and how does a 6'4" 285# D.L. stop his forwar motion one he is in it? I don't want to see any kid hurt and I didn't enjoy the site of Joe Thiesmans leg broken in half on National T.V. years ago. But, I and the public back then didn't enjoy that site and hold Lawrence Taylor accountable?

I hope the guy gets back quick. I remember watching him at Parkview and GAC, and really hoped he would have gone to Auburn. He's a damn good RB, who just can't seem to stay healthy. Tough SOB though, to have a broken jaw and concussion and finish the game out.

I'm so sick of UGA fans, they whined in 03 after reg season game, and couldn't back it up in champ game.
They handled us the next three times we played but still cried after LSU bcs appearance. Richt whines more than anyone.
They lost the game this year but fail to accept their deficiencies instead blaming the refs. If they don't start fixing their issues on both sides of ball they will be lucky to beat Tenn, Auburn and Fla.
They had all the talent last year with Stafford and Moreno and still couldn't play for national title!

I thought the rule was that they could lead with the helmet as long as their opponent wasn't in the act of catching the ball....
