Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't it been said that this guy is a longtime friend of Calloway's dad? If he is, the rules are a bit different I believe

True, if there's an established relationship, the rules are different. I'm sure the timing of the payments and the fact Peaches was obviously hell bent on BC going to Bama will play a part.

The relationship angle might be the angle Bama has to play. I'm starting to wonder since Peaches hasn't denied this yet, JLee might be on to something.

Funny how you bammers idiots can't read and understand the story. By definition this guy is a booster. I don't know if any of the claims are true, but he is a booster. JLee not coming out and saying that? Choosing his words carefully. That's not exactly proof the claims are false. Besides, Lee isn't making the claims...it's more of the same "sources say" crap that drove the Newton story.

You're an idiot. Just because Jeff Lee says he has a source doesn't mean he really has a source. The source could be himself making shite up. And no "sources" drove the Cam Newton story. Cecil Newton came out and admitted that he tried to get money from Mississippi State.

Whose story? Jeff Lee? Or every other sportwriter/commentator calling bullshite?

quote:

By definition this guy is a booster.

Then does that mean Jeff Lee has the world's worst prose, by repeatedly calling him a supporter, or is he just an idiot?

quote:

I don't know if any of the claims are true,

Probably should have stopped here.

quote:

but he is a booster.

But you didn't, now you're spouting off things you have no idea about. Congratulations!

quote:

JLee not coming out and saying that?

No, he's not. Six or seven times he said "supporter" rather than "booster." Can you not read?

quote:

Choosing his words carefully.

No, a "supporter" and a "booster" in the context of what he is talking about (ncaa regs) are two different concepts with two different meanings. If he meant one, he would say it.

quote:

That's not exactly proof the claims are false.

No, its proof he heard a rumor and ran with it, while fully admitting he has zero evidence to back it up.

quote:

Besides, Lee isn't making the claims...it's more of the same "sources say" crap that drove the Newton story.

Yeah, except NEwton came out and admittted he talked pay for play. Kinda of a BIG difference.

This, it's funny how bammers are this article but don't realize the clarification SBB makes makes this situation much WORSE for Bama.

Ok, so JLee called him a supporter and not a booster...wouldn't be the first time JLee was wrong.

If you're a bammer, you want this dude to be a supporter and not a booster.

In your opinion, why hasn't Peaches denied this very serious allegation?

You stupid frick. It matters not what JLee calls the guy, supporter, fig, whatever. To the NCAA, he's a fricking booster you dick wad.

Neither is good. We'd be MUCH safer if he were on our Board of Trustees.

You're right. Talking pay for play isn't against the rules. Getting paid is where the shite hits the fan.

Of course it does. Except that Brooks isnt sure either. He's pointing out that Lee danced around the topic b/c he had zero evidence of what he was spouting. We know this because Brooks called bullshite on the whole thing. Realy, if Brooks wont run with something, you KNOW there's nothing there.

So he's too stupid to figure out he should have written "booster" rather than "supporter" yet he has the goods to take a football program down? REALLY? Do you pull your head out of your arse BEFORE you write this stuff?

quote:

If you're a bammer, you want this dude to be a supporter and not a booster.

And Brooks wasnt saying he was a booster. MErely pointing out that Lee was trying to paint him as a booster without having the sack to call him one. Why would Lee do this? Because, as Brooks pointed out, he's.....Surprise! Surprise! Full of shite!

Actually, it is. See, if you didnt have the mental capacity of a syphylitic orangutan, you would know I was referring to Daddy Newton. If Cam knew his dad was seeking money (and he either did or he's the most naive laptop thief in the history of the United States) then that would make him inelgible. Don't you remember (bad question, there's no way your brain retains memories longer than a day or so) then the whole reason Cam remained eligible was because they couldnt prove to their satisfaction that Cam knew about the solicitations. Do you REALLY not remember this? (I know, I know, dumb question- you're probably hazy on what you had for breakfast this morning.)

Really? There's a very specific ncaa definition on what constitutes a booster. Please post it and show me where that guy meets the criteria. Im waiting.

Please, same question to you Einstein. Show me the ncaa definition of a booster, and how he meets the qualifications. I'll wait.

No, it's not. Says the Pres of the NCAA, Mark Emmert.

Read the 5th paragraph.

And no, that wasn't the whole reason.

Lee has problem trying to explain how he found out that Peaches asked for the payoff of his mtg if true that info had to come from inside the bank . You can't discuss peoples account status with anyone other then the account holder. Lee just discussed it over the airwaves. If true or not this is a lawsuit if Peaches wanted to sue.

Armchair lawyers are stupid. If such information was divulged improperly, the reporter has no liability, it's the person that divulged it that has the problem. The only way Lee would have a problem is if he hacked the banks computers to get it.
