Couple of questions for you (not flaming):
1. Why do you care what the nation thinks of Bama fans?
2. Why do you group the entire fan base into a category bc of two rogue fans?

Bama haters have a "perception", reality is 2 NC's in 3 years!

I'm with you.
No other crimes should be reported or solved until these more serious crimes are dealt with.

I woudn't group the entire fan base, but it is more than two. You had 2-3 guys at Krystal that were ready to be the teabagger, too bad Brian's wife wasn't with him. Also add the countless bama fans that have been on this site defending him for the last week. I would say that is more than 2

On a scale from 1-10, where would you rank a murder with a burned body, and a teabagging on a passed out drunk on Bourbon St?

I know of other cases of Bama Fans Gone Wild and being arrested or committing crimes...
Does anyone have an example of another college fan acting as poorly as Updyke/Drowning... Any that made ESPN? How about just fans getting arrested for committing crimes against other fans/trees?

He was probably a drug dealer or addict.

I know the AU fan the set toomer's corner on fire in the late 90's. Does that count?

Let me add a few Bammer incidents..
From 2008......
An Escambia County couple died Saturday after an argument over the Alabama/LSU football game ended in shotgun blasts, according to Conecuh County authorities.
District Attorney Tommy Chapman identified the people killed as Dennis and Donna Smith of Appleton Road near Brewton.
The shooting allegedly occurred about 7 p.m. at the home of Michael Williams near the Owassa community in Conecuh County, Chapman said.
Williams was arrested, Chapman said, and charged with two counts of murder.
Dispatchers at the Conecuh County Sheriff's Office declined to comment about the case.
Investigators said witnesses told them that Dennis Smith, an LSU fan, called Williams, a fan of the Crimson Tide, after the game Saturday evening and an argument ensued.

First off, I don't think of the Bama fanbase as being like Updyke and Downing. I have Bama friends and Auburn friends...I've been to both places for games and never, not once, had any problems...I've tailgated and had nothing but a great time.
Second, Bama has gotten a bad rap because of these two morons, plus the fact that in the video, Bama fans were cheering him on. This has made websites and news all over...do you honestly think people don't think between Updyke last year and this video people don't think there's something strange? I know better, and I know that most people that have any experience with Bama fans know better, but most people don't.

Take off the corndog glasses and look at if from just a human standpoint. Which crime was an order of magnitude greater than the other? Which story is getting all the attention?

I only brought up Downing and Updyke bc those are the two that have gotten the most attention.
Anyhoo, I see your point. Those other guys are lucky their friends/SO's stopped them. The sportscaster's son should buy his GF a diamond imo

I haven't seen many fans on the site defending him, and the ones that are either (A) are saying that to troll and get a rile out of the LSU fans or (B) they're douches like Downing.
