Or here’s an idea: We grow a spine and stand up for ourselves. We start collectivizing the same way that they do.

White people pretending that race doesn’t matter while everyone else is out to get us because of our race isn’t going to work.

We may wish that race didn’t matter, and maybe it shouldn’t, but it does. It’s just like maybe we should have world peace, but we don’t. Time to live in reality

Right, I think some people see race invoked and they go down to the lower level programming of their ideological priors and start spouting off bullshite. The race angle is just the quickest path to end amateurism because the 14th amendment can be interpreted pretty broadly if the judicial consensus is so inclined. Obviously this will not result in only black athletes getting paid but blow the entire amateurism system to pieces.
