New baseball stadium that is going on its 2nd year.
Plenty of fan support.

Our stadium is going into it's second year too.

It's the best looking Baseball stadium in the SEC, IMO.

This is the old stadium.

Here's the new stadium half full.

here it is full.

I have no idea about baseball. As far as the other sports, they are all so far away it's hard to decide.

I don't know if it is the best looking stadium in the conference, but I saw it at the LSU/Ole Miss football game this year and it is first class. Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, State and South Carolina are at the top.

I know state has a higher attendance, but what about students?

State's attendance was a full thousand lower than Ole Miss's this past year.

State had an off year last year. What are they expected to do this year?

They're expected to be better, but I'm not sure how good they'll be.

This was their second consecutive losing season.

Looks like it will be another LSU/Ole Miss and Arkansas battle. Looking forward to it.

MSU - 14,991 (back in 89); at 07 super regionals we had 13,715

Believe it or not, I found an error by the SEC in State's attendance--they counted one of our home games as 0. I mentioned it to Hubdog who does something with State's SID, and he told me to email State's SID and a guy at the SEC. I did, but never received a reply, and the error was never corrected.

State sold over 6,000 season tickets last season, so our average attendance HAD to be over that (all SEC schools use paid attendance, and MSU was one of the last to do so). If I remember correctly, fixing the mistake would have put us past Ole Miss, but that was mid-season and I think Ole Miss was only at 6,500 at the time. We would not have reached Ole Miss' 7,000 at the end of the season, but we probably would have at least been around 6,500.

A very solid hitting team (Cohen's strong point is hitting) I also look for us to have improved pitching as well.

Arkansas or Ole Miss in baseball.
simply because they both have elite programs in the sport.

You can tell who the new arrival to college baseball is with that statement.

You are one antagonistic person.

This explains the sudden wave of anti-SC threads and posts by various fanbases on this board.

I know that State is a power, but I also know that you've had two straight losing seasons. Cohen could be great, but right now he's an unknown. Arkansas, South Carolina, and Ole Miss are all the safer bets at that point.

That could drastically change this year once we see what Cohen is about.

And those are just the teams that don't have a national power. Throw in LSU and UGA.. and as pointed out earlier 'Bama and UF know how to play some baseball. The SEC is as loaded in baseball as it is in football.
