Because it's distracting your attention away from the beauty of the park.
......come to think of it.....It's also drawing your attention away from the cheap bleachers......so maybe the ads are a good thing.

I've never heard of anyone other than you that has such a strong hatred of bleachers or ads. Are you honestly saying they're distracting you from watching the game

Did I say that? no.
This thread is about who has the best ballpark and bleachers belong in football stadiums to cram in as many people as possible.
One criteria for having the best ballpark is fan comfort. and chair back seating + arm rests >>>>> cheap bleachers.
So yes, I guess you can accuse me of being too critical of bleachers that are cheap and no where near as comfortable as chair back seating.
And they hold no aesthetic value of any kind. They're flat ugly. At least with chair backs, you can color them in any shade you want to blend in with the park. Where as bleachers do nothing but draw attention.
So yes.... If you want me to get down to basics, I think a solid colored outfield wall looks MUCH better than one with multi-colored ads and color matched chair backs are much better in looks and function than metal bleachers.

Plain and simple, boat arse is never a good thing at a baseball game.

I have absolutely no idea what that means....but something tells me it isn't good.

You've never fished in an aluminum boat?
If so, do you not remember how your arse felt? Thats what happens also when you sit on metal bleachers.

I'm sorry......let me rephrase what I said. Baum and OU Stadium are beautiful stadiums, as is Carolina, MSU, Auburn etc. I really didn't mean they were crappy when they were first built, because WHEN they were first built they were very nice. BUT....with that said, both OU and Baum were nowhere as nice THEN as they are NOW!....as is MSU, Auburn etc. Changes, renovations and additions have made these stadiums what they are today.....PLUSH! It takes time in renovating and adding on to college baseball stadiums. What I am trying to say is that Carolina and LSU.....and Tennessee when they finish their first stage of renovations have a heads up more than Arkansas and Ole Miss did when they first built theirs. It took years to make Ole Miss and Arkansas PLUSH.....as how we define PLUS today. Had those renovations not taken place, Arkansas and Ole Miss would lag behind, we all know that! Instead of arguing about who has the best stadium, why can't we all be proud of what we, The SEC, have in terms of College Baseball Stadiums. Noone is going to agree on everything...and every ballpark is different, but they are all great, if not ALL now, it will be soon when Bama and Kentucky build new ones. We should be proud as league members to AGAIN boast of something the SEC has that other "TOTAL" conferences don't have. They say that baseball doesn't mean much to other schools, but in the SEC it does. .....and when other conferences want to FINALLY play catch up, the SEC will still be leaps and bounds above them. I can go to other ballparks in the SEC which are totally different from THE BOX, but still appreciate what they have which makes every one of them unique.
So....to the Arkansas and Ole Miss fans that I pissed off, I apologize. Just realize that the ballparks in the SEC get better with age, as yours did.....and as THE BOX will...and Carolina, and Miss State and Auburn and Tennessee...etc....
One more thing......HEY UGA and Fla, you are lagging behind....so get your asses busy!
GO SEC!

Baum Stadium has always been nice.
It was tagged #1 stadium in America way back in 1998 as well.
Not sure why you say Baum wasnt as nice when it was built, because it was, and always has been nice.
Also, it will only get nicer when right field is enclosed, and the suites loop around and into the outfield.

Ah...gotcha. And yes I have. That's part of the reason why I don't like metal bleachers at baseball games.
Football gets a pass because you're mostly standing anyways.
Baseball is meant for you to sit back, eat a hotdog, and enjoy a nice cold Coke(with or without
The one's in outfield corner of the Carolina look kinda crappy IMO but the rest of the park more than makes up for it. Not too mention there is only a small section of bleachers. The box has what looks like both foul lines from the bases back and all through the outfield. That's just them cramming in as many people as possible at the expense of the individual's comfort.
And if you don't by that.....I've also said multiple times that, looking from inside the park, the suites area looks pretty crappy because it's unfinished. Way too much open area makes it look like it was built in sections over a long time period instead of all at once.
And before the whole "It isn't finished yet...", that's fine. But we're rating parks as they are right now, not what they could be in a few years.
I still say:
Baum
O-U/Carolina/Box in no particular order.
If the Box either finishes the suite area or fixes both the ads and bleachers, they would be tied with the Baum.
They fix both and no one could touch them.....likely anywhere in the country.

We have chairbacks in the outfield as well.
The ONLY time their are metal bleachers, are when they bring in the portable ones for the students when they are expecting an overflow crowd.

wah?
O-U stadium is all of two years old.
We didn't renovate......we flat out rebuilt. the old one was torn down all the way to the base structure.

I just remembered the ones I was talking about in my post are at Carolina's stadium.

Gotcha.
They do bring in some to ours, but they are behind the stationary grills & picnic tables in the Hog Pen next to Razorback Road.
They usually put them up before SEC play starts.

I wouldn't mind if it were overflow for big games. That's why we have the phrase "cheap seats".
Temps is fine by me because I don't really consider them "part" of the stadium.

Probably will not see them once the chairbacks and suites are added to right field.
I would guess that will add another 2k capacity when all of that is done.
