I wouldn’t classify Bryant as a gentleman. He was about as poor and blue collar as it got growing up in Arkansas in the 20s and 30s.

After Ronnie rode off into the sunset, the USA has had some amazingly bad Presidents.

I have one better than that (my apologies but it's interesting).

The first owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Clint Murchison Jr., once had his secretary put President Nixon on hold while he "finished" with a woman in his office.

Nevertheless, for me when I think of UA, I think of Bear Bryant first, not Nick Saban. Can't help it.

Same. I was a kid during the Bryant years...14 when he retired and then passed away....But before I became a UGA fan, I knew waaaay more about Alabama and Bryant as a little kid than I did about UGA. He was just that much of a 'bigger than life' figure at the time. Hell, when my wife and I first were married and I was trying to get her more interested in college football, I once asked her if she knew who Bear Bryant was.

Her reply?

'He was the Governor of Alabama.'

I liked it better when he told the 'fair weather fans' to 'go to hell' on his TV show in..I think it was 1970

I had an aunt and uncle who went to Auburn and a story she used to tell in the 80's when we met during the holidays was about the time they were in Birmingham for the Iron Bowl.

They were staying in the same hotel as Bryant and were getting on the elevator as Bryant was getting off. After they got on she yelled War Eagle.

She said Bryant slowly turned and as the elevator door closed he said "Lady,go to hell."

Not.
Even.
Close.

That Bush signed the Patriot Act alone makes him the worst since WWII.

I think the Bear liked it in the arse. That's why he liked getting the black players. BBC.

Just like Saban.

The patriot act was absolutely awful. But I mean come on, the Obamacare lie alone was awful. I am paying essentially a mortgage payment now for healthcare whereas I used to pay 220. Oh, and let’s not forget fast and furious. And how about the weaponization of the irs? Or how about the stimulus package that went to Obama’s buddies and the unions that basically didn’t do jack shite.

Especially since it was Jimmy Carter (who was actually the worst President our country has ever had -- worse than Barry).
